Amanda Holden shows off Beetlejuice-inspired outfit in daring Halloween look
Amanda Holden, 53, spent Halloween in California with her daughter Hollie - and wore a Beetlejuice-inspired outfit to celebrate the spooky evening with their friends
by Chiara Fiorillo · The MirrorAmanda Holden showed off her Beetlejuice-inspired outfit as she celebrated Halloween with her daughter Hollie in the US.
The 53-year-old Britain's Got Talent judge and her 12-year-old daughter, Hollie, have been soaking up the sun while spending half-term in Beverly Hills, California. And they were joined by friends as they marked Halloween across the Atlantic.
The TV star wore a black and white striped blazer with a black lace bralette beneath. She paired the blazer with a miniskirt and thigh-high black boots. Amanda also wore a green wig to complete her outfit.
For her make-up, she opted for white face paint, dark eye make-up and green lipstick. Before dressing up for the night, Amanda and Hollie headed to Universal Studios for Halloween Horror Nights. In a video she shared on Instagram, she described the event as "the most horrifically fabulous night".
It's not the first time that Amanda wears a Beetlejuice-inspired costume as last week she was joined by her Heart breakfast show co-hosts Ashley Roberts and Jason ‘JK’ King as they transformed into spooky characters inspired by the iconic 1988 movie. The Tom Burton classic, starring Michael Keaton as the eponymous demon, has been given a new lease of life after the long-awaited sequel, Beetlejuice Beetlejuice was released in September.
Amanda and her co-hosts have an annual tradition of dressing up the Friday before Halloween, and this year, they didn't disappoint. The mum-of-two was dressed as Lydia Deetz, and rocked a racy pair of red fishnet tights and a glamorous black wig as she paid homage to Winona Ryder's iconic teenage protagonist. JK was the legendary demon Beetlejuice, and looked incredible in his striped suit and green hair, with gruesome make-up on his face to finish the look.
However, many fans were stunned by Ashley's transformation, as she was dressed as the character Miss Argentina, who in the original movie committed suicide after losing out on Miss World and worked on reception in the afterlife, greeting the newly dead. Her whole body was painted blue, and she wore a bright red wig and matching dress, while her make-up made her look as if she had been dead for decades.
"Beetlejuice! Beetlejuice! Beetlejuice!" Amanda captioned the slideshow of snaps on Instagram, as her loyal fans were blown away. "This year you have really gone all out! Definitely one of the best!" one commented, as another added: "This is epic!"
Others were keen to know how early Amanda, JK and Ashley had to be at the Heart studios to have their make-up done, while others simply celebrated their iconic looks. "Happy Halloween looks insanely good," one wrote, as another chimed in: "Ashley looks EXACTLY like the original actress."
But the Halloween Heart at Breakfast event was missing a special someone this year, as Amanda's beloved co-host Jamie Theakston was recovering at home following his shock cancer diagnosis in September. Last year, Jamie transformed into Shaggy from Scooby Doo, while Amanda dressed up as Velma and Ashley became Daphne, but on Friday, JK stepped in for the absent host, who vowed to be back on the air soon.
