EastEnders fans 'work out who really killed Debbie' amid twist - and it 'wasn't Reiss'

EastEnders viewers have shared a new theory that Debbie Colwell's death was caused by someone other than apparent killer Reiss Colwell, as spoilers have teased a new twist

EastEnders fans think there could be a major twist on the way concerning the recent death of Debbie Colwell.

Reiss Colwell appeared to kill his wife at the care home she was being looked after in, after a stroke years earlier. His pregnant fiancée Sonia Fowler was accused of the crime and sent to prison with him not exposing his guilt to get her released.

But amid spoilers teasing a new twist with Debbie's death, fans think they've worked out what really happened to her. Despite us appearing to see Reiss kill her and then check for a pulse, some fans are not convinced Reiss actually committed the crime.

Now, some fans are convinced it's Debbie's parents who were behind her death and maybe even the incident that resulted in her needing full-time care. Despite them trying to prove Reiss' guilt, their behaviour has left some fans convinced they killed Debbie to stop her from suffering.

It was said Debbie had had a stroke in the bath, with fans wondering if Reiss brought on this stroke after comments about his past. Debbie's mother claimed she was going to leave Reiss just before the stroke, with her convinced Reiss harmed her.

But a new theory could suggest the parents are to blame, and it's left many viewers reeling. One viewer shared online: "Just had a crazy thought after tonight’s Eastenders seeing Debbie’s parents. Her mum was kicking off about Reese trying to get Sonia out of prison but her dad wasn’t he kind of just sat there and didn’t really say anything.

"What if when Teddy's mate finds the CCTV of the day she died it shows Sonia go in and leave then Reese do the same, but then it also shows Debbie’s dad go in and it turns out Rees was going to kill her but couldn’t go through with it, and she was still alive when he left, and it was actually Debbie’s dad that killed her as he didn’t want her to suffer any more, and he’s just going along with it all now so he don’t get found out?"

A viewer replied: "Or even better still it was the mother and she just putting an act on to cover her tracks." As another said the parents "seemed dodgy", a further theory read: "Maybe it was the mum that put her in a coma in the first place and the dad knew about it that’s why he’s acting shifty."

Another comment said: "There will be a twist though, and I bet it doesn't turn out to be him. I think he does believe it's him though, so it's just as twisted to watch your pregnant girlfriend frightened in prison for something he knows she hasn't done."

Spoilers have teased that there's a big discovery next week amid Debbie's will contents being revealed. Reiss and others are said to be left stunned by Debbie's requests in her will, so might it reveal who killed her?
