Big Brother's AJ Odudu's turbulent love life - cheating heartache and mystery New York man

TV star AJ Odudu, who has returned once again as co-host of Big Brother, has had a brilliant rise to fame but away from the cameras, she has found herself unlucky in love

AJ Odudu returns as co-host of the long-awaited new season of Big Brother tonight.

The star, who is currently co-hosting another prime-time show, ITV's M&S: Dress The Nation with Vernon Kay, will be reunited with fellow BB presenter Will Best. The pair were a huge hit with viewers when a revamped version of Big Brother returned to our screens after a five-year hiatus.

Blackburn-born AJ has two successful on-screen partnerships in Vernon and Will, but what about partnerships away from cameras? AJ has been private about her love life in the past and doesn't tend to reveal her boyfriends on her social media.

But in March this year she hinted at a new romance with a cryptic social media post while on holiday in New York. Whilst she didn't disclose who was accompanying her on the trip, she hinted it could be a potential love interest.

The starlet shared a photo of two different trainers as she appeared to rest her foot next to someone else's. Fans could see that the shoes were reverse colours of each other with AJ's appearing to be white with black stripes while her lucky companion had black trainers with white stripes.

Fuelling romance rumours, alongside a love heart emoji, the star penned: "It's very this..." Not much more is known about the mystery man on the trip or whether AJ remains single but she spoken in the past about the pain shes faced in her love life.

AJ's heartbreaking past

As the presenter appeared on Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins she revealed that she has been cheated on in past relationships. Not just one, but three and one was even sleeping with her best friend.

AJ shared that this has left her with trust issues now when looking for other relationships. Back in 2018 she shared a photo alongside a man called Jordan which left fans wondering if they were romantically linked. The relationship was never confirmed but when a fan commented 'your man?' the pair of them both liked the comment.

However it seems that the romance didn't last. But AJ was a bit more open with her love life when she filmed Manhunting with my Mum for Channel 4. While on the show AJ got to know Timini Egbuson but sadly the relationship between the two didn't end up going any further. When advertising the show AJ posted a photo of the pair of them which she captioned: " Friday : Don't be afraid to catch feels."

The pair never confirmed if they went further than the show but Timini also posted a sweet snap of the two of them on his Instagram. He wrote: " Congratulations @ajodudu #ManhuntingWithMyMum premiered on Channel 4 'channel4 last night and it was amazing. "I’m happy I was a part of it but more importantly I’m happy that I met you."

The Strictly curse

Rumours were flying around of the possibility that AJ and her 2024 Strictly dance pro Kai Widdrington were more than just dance partners. Kai and AJ appeared on BBC's It Takes Two following rumours that their relationship had been confirmed but they didn't admit to anything.

Kai said: "If people want to think that, the great... but we were just doing our job, and AJ did a great job." Fans particularly latched onto the rumours after the couple's Movie Week performance as they danced to Whitney Houston's I Have Nothing.

At the end of their dance Kai was heard telling TV presenter: "Aww I I love you, I love you so much," as they hugged. AJ then admitted that she enjoys how everyone is talking about them.

The Manchester Evening News reported that the star said: "I find it exciting that everyone’s interested in us enough to take note of all of these things. "The way I see it is, everyone can see how well we’re getting on and how hard we’re working in order to try our best each and every week to put in a solid performance."

During their Halloween week rehearsals, AJ and Kai were visited by her nieces and nephews as she got ready to take on the role of Medusa. She told her family: "I’m really loving it, I love learning new dances, I like all the costumes and I really like Kai." This then led to one of her nephews saying: "Why don’t you just kiss him?"

Then the following week, host Claudia Winkleman asked Kai to give his partner a kiss as they were interviewed after their performance but he just gave AJ a kiss on the hand instead. AJ approached the rumours as she said: "It’s all just a bit of fun, isn’t it?

"I mean, at the end of the day, me and Kai are just focused on the Strictly experience as a whole, and we’re just focused on dancing and putting our best performance forward each and every week. "So none of that stuff bogs us down at all. We don’t have time to be pressed to be totally honest with you. "And Claudia is so lovely, and is so kind to us each and every week, so it’s all fun and games."
