Fortnite Billy the Puppet release time and price – here's when the Saw collab hits the Item Shop

The Fortnite x Saw collab arrives in-game today, letting players drop into the island as one of the most iconic puppets in the horror genre.

Do you want to play a game? Dressed as a freaky puppet? You can do exactly that later today when Billy the Puppet lands in Fortnite. Here's when the skin releases in the Item Shop and how much it'll cost.

Fortnite is gearing up for its annual Halloween event, with Fortnitemares 2024 kicking off a few days early and starting Friday instead of next week. And Epic Games is rolling out the spooky collabs, skins, and items in the runup to the big day already. While the rumours of a Friday the 13th crossover have been put to bed, with Jason Vorhees not appearing after all, we are getting a couple of other spooktacular icons this year instead.

The Texas Chainsaw Massacre's Leatherface is coming to the game, along with a Fortnite x Saw collab that will see Billy the Puppet enter the fray. The doll isn't alive in the movie franchise, but he'll be running around getting Victory Royale's and Flossing with the best of them later today. Players can grab Billy the Puppet in the Fortnite Item Shop, with the skin coming with a free Trap Television Back Bling. You'll need to pay for all of the other Saw-themed items, including a Pickaxe, Wrap, and an Emote that will see Billy cycle about being creepy.

The Fortnite Billy the Puppet skin and items release at 8pm EDT / 5pm PDTtoday, Tuesday, October 8. For UK players that's 1am BST on Wednesday, October 9. So basically, Billy the Puppet will be in the next Item Shop refresh which happens daily at this time. As for the date confirmation, Fortnite leaker @NotPaloleaks shared that the drop is happening today, so you can represent your favourite creepy doll with a terrible haircut in the next 24 hours.

The Fortnite Billy the Puppet price was leaked from an email sent to influencers (via @FNBRIntel) – which also included the release date – so we know exactly how much the Saw puppet and all of his accoutrements will cost:

• Billy the Puppet Outfit: 1,500 V-Bucks
• Trap Television Back Bling (included with Outfit)
• Spiralized Slicer Pickaxe: 800 V-Bucks
• Billy's Tricycle Emote: 500 V-Bucks
• Puppet's Choice Wrap: 500 V-Bucks

That's 3,300 V-Bucks if you want the complete Fortnite Billy the Puppet collection, which you'd need a 5,000 V-Bucks bundle to cover. That comes in at £27.99 / $36.99 / AU$47.95, which is pretty pricey! However, Epic is offering an 800 V-Bucks discount on the Perilous Puppet bundle, which includes everything listed above, according to a tweet from leaker @Hypex. While the price in the image shared is missing, we're assuming the discount is applied to the cost of buying each item separately, bringing the price of the Perilous Puppet bundle to 2,500 V-Bucks, which you can cover with a 2,800 V-Bucks bundle (£17.49 / $22.99 / AU$30.35)

Of course, you could stick to just the Billy the Puppet skin (and free Back Bling), which will be covered by a 2,800 V-Bucks bundle costing £17.49 / $22.99 / AU$30.35.

As a reminder, you can buy V-Bucks bundles in 1,000, 2,800, 5,000 and 13,500 amounts, so the discount on the Fortnite Billy the Puppet bundle makes it a tad easier to swallow, based on the amount of V-Bucks you'd need to buy otherwise.
