Princess Charlotte has a Royal best friend who is 27 years older than her

Princess Charlotte has a close bond with one member of the Royal Family who is almost three decades older than her, and the pair are often seen together at family events

Despite a significant age gap of 27 years, two female members of the Royal Family share an unexpectedly strong bond, which may have developed naturally at family gatherings and private events.

It might seem odd for nine year old Princess Charlotte and 36-year-old Princess Beatrice to form such a close connection, but their unexpected and heartwarming relationship bridges generations within the Royal Family.

Known for her closeness with cousin Prince William and his wife, Kate Middleton, Princess Beatrice has displayed her deep friendship with their daughter at various Royal events. Body language expert Judi James highlighted a moment shared between the royals at Princess Eugenie's wedding to Jack Brooksbank in 2018, held at St George's Chapel in Windsor Castle - the same venue used by Prince Harry and Meghan Markle for their own nuptials that year.

Judi said: "The pose where little Princess Charlotte gazed up at her 'auntie Beatrice' at Eugenie's wedding showed Beatrice could well be Charlotte's favourite royal friend."

The body language expert has highlighted a poignant moment between two royals at the Duke of Edinburgh's funeral service in March 2022. Judi observed a touching interaction where young Princess Charlotte seemed to comfort an emotional Royal from a distance.

Due to Covid-19 restrictions, the funeral held at St George's Chapel in Windsor was attended by only 30 members of the Royal Family.

Judi said: "There was an even more touching moment between the two at Philip's memorial service. Beatrice was overcome by emotion during the service, weeping loudly and even hiding her entire face behind her hymn sheet at one point. It was little Charlotte who looked back from the front row with an expression of concern, prompting Beatrice to offer a small smile and nod of thanks to reassure Charlotte she was okay."

Furthermore, it is believed that Charlotte shares a close bond not just with Beatrice, but also with the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh's only daughter, Lady Louise Windsor, now 20 years old.

The expert noted that Lady Louise possesses "attractive qualities" that render her an ideal role model for Princess Charlotte.

Lady Louise and her brother James, the Earl of Wessex, have spent most of their life growing up discreetly at Bagshot Park in Windsor, appearing prominently only during major Royal events. Emulating her cousin Prince William, Lady Louise is currently studying at the University of St Andrews.

Ms James said: "Louise was launched into a more public role much later in life than Charlotte, who has been front-line from birth, but she seems to have adopted her mother Sophie's approach of calm confidence and low drama, which must look attractive to Charlotte."
