I love Lego's R2-D2 set and Star Wars fans can get it for cheapest price in Amazon sale

The online giant is offering the adorable droid set for less during its two-day Amazon Prime Big Deals Days sale event

I am obsessed with Lego and own many sets from Star Wars, Harry Potter and more. A few months ago I added R2-D2 to my ever-growing collection after spotting it was on sale at Amazon.

The online giant is once again offering the adorable droid for a discounted price as part of its huge Prime Big Deals Day event on October 8 and 9. The 1,050-piece Lego set usually costs £89.99 and can now be yours for £63.59.

This is the cheapest price around, with it costing £89.99 when bought directly from Lego and £66.99 at John Lewis. I love the detail of the R2-D2 model which captures the droid's personality perfectly.

The set includes R2's attachable periscope and tools, and also moves, with the droid's head turning 360 degrees and there being a detachable third leg for mobility. R2-D2 isn't alone in the box, as it comes with a minifigure of the droid that sits next to an information plaque and a Darth Malak minifigure.

I thoroughly enjoyed the build itself as it was slightly more intricate than I was expecting considering it's designed for 10-year-olds and above. This meant I took my time rather than rush the build like I often do, and I liked how the set includes various sized pieces and stickers to add extra detail to the droid.

The R2-D2 set is an impressive size and looks fabulous sitting on a sideboard in my games room next to Luke Skywalker's X-Wing Fighter and The Mandalorian and The Child Brickheadz. It seems I'm not the only Star Wars fan who loves the cute droid set, with it receiving an overall rating of 4.7 out of five on Amazon.

One shopper awarded it full marks and said: "Perfect addition to my collection. Perfect size for display shelves. Went together really easily and the instructions were clear."

Someone else commented: "R2-D2 is a classic character and this model is a great likeness. It's a good size, slightly larger than the helmet collection. I would say that this is a must-have for any Lego Star Wars collection."

Sadly a couple of people had to return the R2-D2 Lego set as there were 'missing pieces'. However, this isn't an issue I had, and many others also received complete sets.
