Coronation Street star Calum Lill has been seen taking on a very different role following his soap exit. The actor hasn't spoken out on leaving the ITV soap as Joel Deering just yet.

And while fans of the long-running show are still hopeful he may return, there is currently a 'whodunnit' underway in Weatherfield after the solicitor's body was found.

Joel's disappearance was first revealed after he failed to show his face in court. In the ITV soap scenes aired at the end of September, a warrant was issued for Joel's arrest as he was seemingly set to face his comeuppance for his twisted crimes, which included grooming Lauren Bolton.

But, after transferring money to Lauren, how the mother of his son Frankie and his ex-wife Emily, and leaving an emotional voicemail for his former fiancée Dee-Dee Bailey, Joel's car was found abandoned and it was believed Joel may have ended up taking his own life.

That theory quickly changed when the police investigation turned into solving Joel's murder after his body was found floating down a river before it was then confirmed he'd been killed with a heavy weapon before entering the water.

So far, scorned ex-Dee-Dee, her dad Ed and her uncle Ronnie have been put in the frame, as has DS Lisa Swain, Mason Radcliffe and Carla Connor. But since then, the case's leading investigator Kit Green has also revealed his own involvement in Joel's demise.

And while the action continues to play out on screen, Joel actor Calum has been spotted in a more relaxing role. The soap star appeared during Monday's episode (November 4) of Good Morning Britain as the new celebrity face promoting ITV's competition.

Calum was seen sporting a white robe as he made his way around an idyllic spa while delivering the details of the competition - which includes a spa escape and £70,000 - to ITV viewers.

It comes after it was previously revealed Calum was already looking to pastures new after it was announced he's swapping the cobbles of Weatherfield for the sands of Bournemouth as he joins the cast of Bournemouth Pavilion pantomime, Jack & the Beanstalk, where he'll be playing the villainous Fleshcreep, packed with a side order of dastardly deeds and mischief.
