Katya Jones has shared her delight at not only her and Wynne Evans getting through to another week on Strictly Come Dancing but at the fact the 'boys' have been kept together.

The professional dancer took to social media to reflect on the news that she and her opera singing dance partner had secured a place in week eight of the BBC One dance contest.

It came after Wynne pulled off a surprise twist during his week seven performance on Saturday night (November 2) during Strictly's first-ever 'Icons Week' in which the remaining couples performing to a song by a legendary singer or band.

Wynne and Katya Jones performed the notoriously difficult Rumba to This is My Life by Shirley Bassey which saw the GoCompare advert star open up about his struggles with his mental health and told how he finds the song by his Welsh compatriot empowering and emotional

The emotional dance ended in a dramatic fashion as Wynne suddenly stopped dancing and began singing, leaving viewers gobsmacked.

Anton Du Beke described the move as the "best ending ever" before telling Wynne to "improve your spatial awareness but marvellous". Motsi Mabuse, meanwhile, said she loved his "passion" but said he was "slightly unbalanced" and needed to finish his moves.

The pair landed a very respectable 30 out of a possible 40 points before it was confirmed in Sunday night's (November 3) results show that they had been backed by the public and were heading into another week of training.

Taking to Instagram afterwards, Katya shared a string of snaps in which Wynne could be seen receiving hugs from a number of his co-stars before flexing his muscles shirtless alongside Pete Wicks. Another photo showed him and Katya with Jamie Borthwick and Michelle Tsiakkas posing for a selfie as both couples have bonded during their Strictly so far.

Alongside the post, the dancer wrote: "There was a lot of hugging. We did it! THANK YOU so much! I can’t tell you how grateful we are for this gift of another week of dancing. Boys are still together. And that makes me really happy too. The competition is tougher. Tiredness is real. But friendships and gratitude are stronger than ever. Week 8. @wynneevans can you believe it?"

Wynne didn't respond to the post but shared his own and alognside picture of himself and Katya in dancing action on the dance floor, he said: "Over the moon to be looking forward to another week of #strictly! Thank you @kaytajones and thanks everyone all for the support. @bbcstrictly."
