As autumn has settled in, many may struggle to fall asleep due to the drop in temperature. While some are investing in heated blankets and hot water bottles to stay warm at night, others are choosing a different solution that also helps wearers drift off to sleep easier too.

Amazon's Lavender Steam Eye Masks help keep your face warm and soothe dry eyes by creating a gentle steam through drawing in moisture from the surrounding air. They are also gently scented with lavender which has been shown to improve the quality of sleep.

The eye masks, which stay warm for up to 40 minutes, are made of soft non-woven fabric are comfortable and skin-friendly for your eyes. Those who have picked up a box say they are 'much better' and 'more affordable' than a costly version available at Sephora.

The Lavender Steam Eye Masks boast an overall star-rating of 4.5 out of five from 1,150 reviews on Amazon. One shopper said: "Fabulous self heating eye mask, soothes and relaxes dry, tired eyes. Perfect for flights, trains or just to help relax."

A second wrote: "I’m a poor sleeper so during night I get a warm drink, stack my pillows up, apply my mask and relax. After a while with a bit of luck I sleep. Much more economical than spacemasks. Fast delivery so no complaints."

Somebody else mentioned: "I was diagnosed with extreme dry eyes by my optician earlier this year. I wanted a mask for holidays that I did not need a microwave to heat up. These are really amazing and so comfortable to wear. I would prefer to use them all the time, but unfortunately it would not be cost effective."

Among the three-star reviews, one shopper hailed the Lavender Steam Eye Masks as 'not as effective' as an electric eye mask. They said: "There is nothing wrong with these, I just prefer a USB powered heated eyemask more. I purchased these for travel ease but not sure I'll end up using them all."

But another loved their latest Amazon beauty purchase, adding: "I bought these to try as I have been using Spacemasks. These ones are much cheaper and are more comfortable to wear. They also held their heat longer. I will definitely buy them again"
