BBC Strictly Come Dancing's Chris McCausland confesses reason for 'hard work' after going 'missing'
by Jessica Sansome · Manchester Evening NewsChris McCausland has admitted the reason why he has been 'working hard' this week ahead of his next live Strictly Come Dancing performance.
The comedian will return to the ballroom on Saturday night (November 2) alongside professional dance partner Dianne Buswell. They will pay homage to rock band Kiss by dancing a tango to Rock And Rock All Nite in the show's first-ever 'Icons Week'.
It comes after the pair appeared deflated following their last live performance, which took place during the BBC One dance contest's Halloween special last Saturday (October 26).

At the time, Chris seen getting the spooky festivites off to a lively start with a hip shaking samba to Stayin’ Alive by The Bee Gees. Dressed in a sparkly suit and frazzled wig, the stand-up grooved along the floor in between gravestones with his partner Dianne to pick up a score of 26 out of a possible 40.
But during his chat with Claudia Winkleman, Chris didn't shy away from the fact that the Samba had been the dance of death for a number of the 2024 series' couples so far, and recognised that going first has also seen some of his fellow competitors end up in the bottom-two.
However, Chris and Dianne survived the 'curse' and were seen making it through to week seven of Strictly's 20th-anniversary series, which marks the first 'Icons Week', which was introduced last month as part of the show's special year.
Ahead of their performance, Chris and Dianne shared a joint message on Instagram after going quiet on their fans and followers by not posting their daily 'CHRIS’S DIAnneRIES' videos.

"We haven't been around for a couple of days," Chris started by saying before asking: "Why's that, Di?" The professional dancer then replied: "Why is that? Oh, we've been busy haven't we!" Chris went on to ask Dianne what he'd 'been doing'. He tried to give her hints but she admitted she 'didn't get it' before they agreed he'd been "working hard".
"We've been working very hard and we just ran out of time at the end of the days to do anything," Chris went on to explain. Dianne then took over and said they wanted to say hello to those who had been supporting them and also show off some of the letters they had been receiving which she had been reading to Chris.
It was later that Chris told why he had been working even harder this week in rehearsals. He said: "Thank you and we've been putting in so much hard work. Why's that Di? So that I don't say what this Saturday night? That I don't say to you at the start of [the live show], 'How does the dance go, Di?'" to which they both giggled.
