BBC Strictly Come Dancing's Jamie Borthwick hit with same comparison amid 'harsh' observation 

Jamie Borthwick has been hit by the same comparison as he performed his latest routine on Strictly Come Dancing. The EastEnders star was back in the ballroom on Saturday night (October 5) alongside his dance partner Michelle Tsiakkas.

For the dance show's Movie Week special the pair, quickstepped to I’m Still Standing by Sir Elton John from the biopic Rocketman, scoring 30 out of a possible 40 from the judges.

Motsi Mabuse hinted Jamie, who is known for playing Jay Mitchelle in EastEnders, could be heading all the way for the final in December as she commented "I think the Glitterball is close to you" if he can make his dancing more "tidy".

Following the performance, Jamie told Claudia Winkleman: "We're all really trying and it's been a bit of a hard week for all of us, but we're really enjoying it and we're so happy to be here. We're just having a ball."

Michelle, who has been given a celebrity to dance with for the first time this year, also added: "I know how hard you worked, I know what a tough week it's been and I'm really proud of you."

But Strictly fans couldn't help but be distracted throughout as they couldn't help but think Jamie looked less Sir Elton and more Joe Lycett.

Meanwhile, other Strictly viewers have shared how they think the judges are being 'harsher' on Jamie than some of the other celebrities in the competition.

@courtney.berrow said: "He’s so judged so harshly compared to everyone else but i think he’s one of the top competitors this season!" @issy_jones28 added: "I’m shocked at Anton and Shirley giving him a 7. I thought this dance was amazing and when they give lower than Craig then that says something!"
