Gemma Atkinson 'fights tears' as she makes realisation over son with Gorka Marquez move
by Jessica Sansome · Manchester Evening NewsGemma Atkinson appeared to be left emotional as she made a realisation over her young son. The Hits Radio host and her fiancée Gorka Marquez have recently been reunited following his Strictly Come Dancing exit.
The Spanish dancer was paired with Dr Punam Krishnan for the 2024 edition of the BBC One dance contest and with the Morning Live star and practising GP being based in Glasgow, it meant Gorka temporarily moved to the Scottish city.
But following Strictly's Halloween special at the end last month, Gorka and Dr Punam were eliminated from the competition, meaning the former's time in Scotland came to an end and he was able to return to Greater Manchester to be back with his family.
On Tuesday (November 5), Gemma and Gorka were seen joining forces as they took their son, Thiago, for his latest haircut. The one-year-old looked chilled as he sat on his mum's lap with a snack during the process.
Sharing a video to her Instagram Story, Bury-born Gemma said: "Hair cut," before accompanying the clip with the Thin Lizzy track 'The Boys Are back in Town'. She then followed up the post with a snap of the adorable youngster with his fresh trim and said: "And now he looks so much older," alongside a face holding back tears emoji and a red love heart.
Gemma, 39, also reshared Gorka's, 34, video of Thiago's haircut in progress alongside more face holding back tears emojis and red love hearts. But it was later back to normal as she shared a video of her Thiago and older sister Mia, five, with the caption: "The bedtime negotiations begin [face palm and crying laughing emojis]."
It comes after Gemma has now hilariously revealed the chaos Gorka has already brought back with him. Speaking to co-host Mike Toolan on their Hits Radio show, he said: "Gorka's back now isn't he?" to which the former Emmerdale star replied: "Yeah but my routine is all out of sorts again now.
"This morning, I heard [replicates banging noises] and I thought, 'Why's he being so loud at this time in the morning?' Anyway, 20 past five he comes down stairs with Mia in his arms. She's upset, Papa put the landing light on, mummy. It woke me up!' because she has her door open. And then she says, 'He banged his suitcase!' I said to him, 'Why are you so loud?' I said, 'It's half past five in the morning!'"
She went onto explain how Mia had another hour and a half before she needed to be up for school but instead of going back to bed, she wanted to watch a series. But Gemma told her "absolutely not" before adding: "So as I'm walking her back upstairs, she starts crying and woke Thiago up! I said to him [Gorka], 'The whole house is awake now because of you and you're going to drive off to London at six and I've got the aftermath!'"
