Coronation Street star Jack P Shepherd has left fans in stitches as he revealed the reality of filming the show's latest emotional funeral scenes as Paul Foreman was laid to rest.

It comes just under a month after the ITV soap character, played by Peter Ash for six years, tragically died after being diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease (MND) in April 2023.

Early last month, Bernie Winter and Summer Spellman with Paul when his health took a sudden turn as he started struggling to breathe. The pair called for an ambulance and Paul was rushed to the hospital where Bernie, Summer and Paul's sister Gemma Winter-Brown were soon told by doctors there was nothing more they could do.

As they said their heartbreaking goodbyes, there was a tragic twist when Paul's husband Billy Mayhew didn't make it to the hospital in time to fulfil his promise of being by Paul's side when the time came due to a string of unfortunate events that delayed him getting there and arriving once Paul had already passed.

Corrie fans have since watched Paul's family struggling to come to terms with their loss and during Wednesday night's (October 2) trip to Weathefield and Billy took the lead in conducting the service at the church where he and Paul had married just a year earlier.

But as the emotional service came to an end, Bernie's emotions got the better of her and she took revenge for Billy letting Paul's estranged father Denny Foreman attend the funeral. The pair ended up arguing at the end of the service after a drunken Denny emerged, taking Bernie by surprise.

They argued over which one had best supported Paul when Bernie eventually confessed that Billy hadn't spoken to Paul on the phone like he thought as he'd already died.

But amidst the intensely emotional scenes, Corrie fans couldn't help but point out an issue with the pallbearers, noting that Kit Green, played by Jacob Roberts, was much taller than those also carrying the coffin, including Jack's character David Platt.

Jack has now shared a glimpse into a run-through of the scene in which he and his co-stars could be seen carrying the coffin into the church, with his involvement very limited due to the coffin actually sitting inches above his shoulder.

The soap star quipped: "Eh you’ve got to bloody laugh haven’t ya!" Resharing the post, Kit actor Jacob Roberts joked on his Instagram Story: "While my shoulder is in bits..." while he also commented on Jack's post with a number of crying laughing emojis.

Bernie actress Jane Hazlegrove replied: "Excellent camera work!! You are hilarious!" Jack's on-screen wife Julia Goulding replied: "Excellent!" while Tony Maudsley echoed: "Brilliant!"
