Christine McGuinness 'felt like a hindrance' in marriage to Paddy as she opens up on rows

Paddy McGuinness' ex-wife Christine McGuinness has revealed that she often "felt like a hindrance" during their relationship, which ended in 2022. In her book A Beautiful Nightmare, Christine, 36, offered an intimate look at her personal experiences, from her career to autism and family.

In one chapter, the mother-of-three shared how she often worried about being "a nuisance" and therefore had a tendency to people-please.

"Honestly, I feel like such a hindrance at times, especially with my husband, but with work and events too," she penned. Additionally, Christine divulged details about a disagreement with Paddy they were having at the time over decorating.

She added: "One of our arguments we're having at the minute is about wallpaper. Patrick wants to cover our bedroom, the living room and the downstairs toilet in wallpaper, but I just can't bear the thought of it.

"He's got wallpaper in his office and I can see the seams, so I can't go in there," reports the Liverpool Echo.

Christine also mentioned that while she may be "be a bit anal" about maintaining tidiness, she considers herself "open-minded" and "kind".

The former Real Housewives of Cheshire star released her book ahead of her split from Paddy, former presenter of Take Me Out and Top Gear.

The pair announced their split in 2022 and divorced earlier this year, but have continued living together for the benefit of their three children.

As she navigates through her single life, Christine is enjoying the company of a new romantic interest, who is yet to be named.

In a statement to Reach PLC this week, the reality star expressed her joys of dating again but refuted claims that she's found her "soulmate". She commented: "I have happily said myself that I am newly dating and I don't want to say anymore than that for now, as always, I'm keeping my children in mind.

"I value theirs and my own privacy around my private life and it is for me to share as and when I feel that time is right. I am just enjoying some company when I can and not in any rush to get into a relationship, I'm simply dating and having fun in my own time."
