Coronation Street's Steve McDonald star sent well wishes after issuing health update
by Jessica Sansome · Manchester Evening NewsCoronation Street star Simon Gregson has been flooded with well wishes as he revealed he'd been struck down during what was set to be a busy weekend.
The actor, famed for playing Steve McDonald in the ITV soap, was sharing updates on social media as he took part in Sotheby's London to Brighton veteran car run, the world's largest gathering of veteran cars in which participants are not allowed to exceed an average speed of 20 miles per hour.
But after being excited to get started, Simon was seen facing problems during the journey when the car he had been travelling in had broken down. He said he ended up having to drive the car by turning the fuel "on and off" before still carrying on the journey to Brighton in another car.

However, Simon later told how things continued not to go to plan and in his last video update posted to his Instagram page, the soap star said: "Car didn't make it, which is fortuitous because neither have I, I am full of man flu. I thought I could make it, I couldn't so I'm tucked up in a very nice hotel where I am going to sleep and hopefully be alright."
He then added: "Thank to the British Motorist Museum for lending us the car, hopefully go again next year. Thanks to everyone who waved to all the wonderful people in their wonderful driving machines. What an amazing event."
Simon's on-screen daughter Elle Mulvaney, who plays Amy Barlow in Corrie, was quick to respond to his post, writing in the comments "Feel better soon" alongside a love heart emoji. Former co-star Angela Lonsdale also commented: "Get better soon darlin."
His fans and followers were also quick to send their well wishes. @chopsie_notts said: "GWS dude! At least you had fun before the sickness overwhelmed." @paulcowland_ commented: "Good effort mate!
