EastEnders fans predict new romance as they 'spot chemistry' between two characters

EastEnders fans are buzzing with speculation that Jack Branning, played by actor Scott Maslen, could be heading for an unexpected love story.

Episodes recently airing on BBC One have shown Penny Branning (portrayed by Kitty Castledine) growing closer to a new face in Walford, Harry Mitchell (played by Elijah Holloway), much to her father Jack's displeasure.

Jack, a police officer, has even gone to the lengths of investigating to tear Penny and Harry apart, uncovering accusations that Harry had fatally attacked his previous girlfriend following an argument, leaving her missing since.

Harry has since offered up his version of events regarding Shireen's puzzling disappearance to Penny who seems to believe his side of the story.

However, Jack took matters into his own hands and assaulted Harry in public, an incident that was filmed by Tommy Moon (actor Sonny Kendall), reports the Daily Star.

With this video evidence, Harry is taking advantage of Jack, coercing him into a scheme to move stolen cars, clearly marking Jack as an adversary in his book.

Upcoming episodes promise more intrigue as Jack digs further into Shireen's case, aiming to dismantle the Mitchells' world.

Yet, against all odds, some viewers are sensing a romantic spark between Jack and Harry. Speculations about their relationship have made waves across fan circles.

A fan speculated on X, writing: "I'm not the only one seeing Harry flirting with Jack right? #EastEnders." (sic)

Another was keen on the plot development, stating: "OKAY BUT @bbceastenders why do I kinda want this Jack and Harry storyline to go further if you know what I mean it'd be so hot! #EastEnders." (sic)

And another fan highlighted the characters' connection: "The chemistry between Harry and Jack is unrivalled #EastEnders." (sic)

"Why does Harry sound like he's trying to seduce Jack," queried another.
