Dianne Buswell has admitted Chris McCausland had a 'difficult' day ahead of their much-anticipated next performance on Strictly Come Dancing.

The dancer and the comedian are set to do a jive to the Wayne's World Theme for the BBC dance show's annual Movie Week special which takes place on BBC One on Saturday night (October 5).

The pair will once again be hoping to impress after receiving a standing ovation last weekend from the live audience for their foxtrot on Saturday night (September 28) to Be Young, Be Foolish, Be Happy by The Tams, picking up an impressive 29 points and managing to keep themselves clear of the first dance-off and elimination of the series.

Earlier this week, as he got stuck into rehearsals for week three, Chris joked he's a 'broken man' during a break from training to appear on This Morning with Dianne. When co-host Ben Shephard asked: "What are you working on this week?" Dianne replied: "It's a Jive, so it's very fast." Chris then chimed in with his own views on how the rigorous routines had taken their toll on his body.

The 47-year-old said: "It's relentless. There is no let-up in it whatsoever. At the minute, I can't feel my legs and all I can feel is my legs at the same time. I feel like I've been riding a horse for a month, it is killing me. I spent about a third of the time trying to jive and two thirds of the time lying on the floor trying to breathe," before he added: "I'm a broken man, Ben. I'm a broken man!"

And in their latest update, which was shared on Friday night (October 4), Dianne revealed it had been a hard day for Chris. "It's been a hard day hasn't it?" Dianne starts by saying as the 47-year-old lets his tired head flop onto her shoulder. It's been a difficult Friday," he shared.

But Dianne encouraged: "But it was still absolutely incredible and you will all see how incredible he is at this dance. But I think, do you know what it was for me today? It was nothing to do with the dancing because you can do that dance and I've seen you do it a million and one times now, it was just you felt a bit down..."

Chris then explained: "So on a Friday, what happens is you come in and you do three run-throughs of your dance [in the studio] while the camera guys figure out how they're going to film me. I came in, I was so exhausted today - I didn't sleep much last night. I was so flat this morning..." Dianne interjected: "You were a bit flat. You worried me."

Chris continued: "I got through two of them [the run-throughs] in a real kind of blundery way..." Dianne told him the two dances were "quite good actually" but Chris said they were "lacking most of the things you've taught me over the last week". He went on: "And the third one, my mind just went and I messed it up once, then I messed it up twice. I couldn't get back. I ruined my head for about three hours!"

The 47-year-old told how Dianne "gave him some space" before they "restarted the day". Dianne said: "We said, 'Let's restart today, shall we?'" Chris continued: "We pretended it was the morning at half past three in the afternoon... Then we had our dance again..." as Dianne interjected: "And it went really well!"

They were then given some words of encouragement from Dianne's dad, Mark, as part of there now weekly ritual before their Strictly co-stars flooded them with love and support.

Gorka Marquez said: "You guys are doing so well! And putting a smile in everyones face." Vito Coppola shared: "I am going to HUG YOU the all day tomorrow, every single time I’ll see you… Be ready Chriiiiiiiiis." Nick Knowles, who is out of this weekend's show through injury, added: "You are doing incredibly well - I know that Friday feeling - had it last week - you are going to be tremendous tomorrow. I saw your run thoughs today - they weren’t bad at all. You continue to amaze us all every day my friend. Sleep well and smash it tomorrow. Huge man hugs. I’ll be watching and cheering you on."
