Coronation Street's Steve McDonald star's on-screen wife admits 'love' as he makes new move
by Jessica Sansome · Manchester Evening NewsCoronation Street star Simon Gregson has been supported by his on-screen ex-wife as he revealed he was making a new move away from the cobbles.
The actor, who is famed for playing Steve McDonald in the ITV soap, was recently flooded with well-wishes after he revealed he'd been struck down with 'man flu' after his weekend plans came to an abrupt end.
Simon had been sharing updates on social media as he took part in Sotheby's London to Brighton veteran car run, the world's largest gathering of veteran cars in which participants are not allowed to exceed an average speed of 20 miles per hour.

But after being excited to get started, Simon was seen facing problems during the journey when the car he had been travelling in had broken down. He said he ended up having to drive the car by turning the fuel "on and off" before still carrying on the journey to Brighton in another car.
However, Simon later told how things continued not to go to plan and in his last video update posted to his Instagram page, the soap star said: "Car didn't make it, which is fortuitous because neither have I, I am full of man flu. I thought I could make it, I couldn't so I'm tucked up in a very nice hotel where I am going to sleep and hopefully be alright."
And clearly his brief time recuperating got him thinking as he later announced he has created a YouTube channel where he will be posting a variety of different content.

Announcing the news to his social media followers, Simon said: "So my analogue brain is gonna try and do a YouTube channel with various different content, car stuff, life stuff and spooky ghost stuff so check out @simongregorydad on Youtube and I’ll keep making stuff for you to like or fall asleep to either way it could come in useful."
Kate Ford, who plays the role of his estranged party Tracy Barlow in Corrie, was among the first to respond, writing: "Love this!" Former Corrie co-star Ryan Thomas also echoed: "Love this man," before Simon's fans and followers rushed to show their interest.
It comes after Simon announced back in September that he is releasing a children's book. Titled The Dream Dragon, the soap star shared a sneak peek at the book's beautiful illustrations on social media.
The drawings, shared to Instagram, featured a small orange dragon drinking from a stream in a forest while dragons fly through the sky. He wrote in the caption: "With huge thanks to the amazing Aliya Stevens, the illustrations for my new book The Dream Dragon are finished." Simon then added to his fans and followers: "Now to put it all together and hope people love it as much as we do. Fergus the Tree Hump I’m still writing so wish me luck."
