Chris McCausland has been flooded with support after his and Dianne Buswell's admission about their future in Strictly Come Dancing. It came as the pair were reflecting on the news that they'd made it through to another week of the BBC One dance contest.

They were seen getting the news during Sunday night's results show (October 6) after impressing with their Wayne’s World-inspired jive in the BBC dance contest's annual Movie Week, which aired live on Saturday night (October 5).

Comedian Chris and dancer Dianne appeared as the film’s main characters and scored 30 out of a possible 40 points from the judges, their highest score of the competition so far.

Judge Craig Revel-Horwood described their performance as "packed full of fantastic rhythm", saying: "Strong at kickball changes, they’re a little bit heavy for my liking, but it was full, packed full of fantastic rhythm."

Then, during Sunday night's (October 6) results show, Chris, who is Strictly's first blind contestant, and Dianne were confirmed to have made it through to the next week of Strictly 2024 where it was revealed they'll be performing a Salsa to Men At Work's 'Down Under'.

Following the results show, which is pre-recorded following the live show on a Saturday night before being aired on BBC One the following evening, Dianne shared a post to social media in which she and Chris could be seen fully immersing themselves in their Movie Week theme.

"Mind blown yet again by this incredible man @chrismccauslandcomedy," the Australian dancer shared. "Thank you for trusting me with every step we take! Even though sometimes what I’m asking you to do must sound so bonkers half / all of the time. Thank you all so much for your votes and your kind words we see them and they really do help us push along."

She added: "Week 4 let’s have ya. Lastly, @mr_njonesofficial @toyahofficial we send so much love and will miss you guys on the dance floor!" Meanwhile, Chris was quick to respond to Dianne's first post as he acknowledged his dance partner's efforts and the support they've received.

And the same goes from me, thank you so much everybody! Believe me, I am surprising myself here as much as anybody else.

"Your support and votes mean so much to us, as I'm really loving doing this with Super Dianne and would like it to continue. Lots of love and thanks to you all!"

In response, @spectangela said: "Love you Chris … you can do anything you put your mind to!!!" @drewlaventure commented: "YOU ARE INCREDIBLE.
