BBC Strictly Come Dancing's Vito Coppola tells co-stars 'I get emotional' after 'special' Sarah Hadland update

Vito Coppola was left getting 'emotional' after reflecting on one of the latest performances in the Strictly Come Dancing ballroom. The dancer was back on the dancefloor himself over the weekend with his celebrity dance partner Sarah Hadland.

It was a big week in the world of the BBC One dance contest as on Saturday night (October 5), week three of this year's competition became the annual Movie Week special and saw the remaining couples channel their inner film stars.

Miranda star Sarah and her dance partner Vito performed a Viennese waltz to Hedwig’s Theme from the Harry Potter series, described as a tribute to Dame Maggie Smith following the actress' death last month.

And while Vito admitted his own performance made him emotional as it made him thing of his family and their Harry Potter movie marathons when in Italy, a moving musical and dance performance during Sunday night's (October 6) results show also hit him in the feels.

As the couples waited to discover which couples would face the dreaded dance-off before one would be sent home, musician and classical pianist Alexis Ffrench performed The Heart Asks Pleasure First while Lauren Oakley and Kai Widdringon peformed a routine alongside him.

Responding to a clip of the performance on Tuesday (October 8), Vito admitted: "Guys I watched this video and the entire one on YouTube maaaany times. I get emotional every single time. This is one of my favourite songs and you two just made it come alive in a way that brings my so many different feelings."

Strictly's reigning champ, who picked up the Glitterball last year alongside actress Ellie Leach, added: "Thank you so much. You have been BEAUTIFUL @kaiwidd @laurenmayoakley."

It comes after Vito and Sarah were seen reflecting on the Harry Potter-themed performance and sharing details about their fresh week of training during an appearance on the Strictly spin-off It Takes Two with Fleur East.

After appearing on the show, Vito shared a video of them strutting their stuff in the corridor at the studio, with Pete Wicks even making a cameo appearance in the background. The dancing couple looked fabulous as they sported matching blue and silver outfits, with Vito telling their fans: "This is a special week and that’s why we decided to sparkle a little bit.

"We also would like to THANK YOU once more. The gratitude towards you is never enough for all your support beautiful people. The best way to show you how much we appreciate all your love is giving our best every single week #alwayswithloveandpassion."
