BBC Strictly Come Dancing star says 'it's about time' as she names stars at risk this weekend
by Jessica Sansome · Manchester Evening NewsA former Strictly Come Dancing star has said 'it's about time' one of this year's stars faces the bottom two as she names who she thinks is at risk of an exit this weekend.
Week eight of the BBC One dance contest arrives in the ballroom on Saturday night (November 9) and follows the previous weekend's rollercoaster of an evening on the dance floor with the arrival of the first-ever 'Icons Week'.
And it'll be a big night for the remaining nine couples as not only will they be hoping to keep their place in the competition, they'll also be hoping they can do enough to see them through to the annual Blackpool special, which takes place next Saturday (November 16).

The next live show of Strictly's 20th anniversary series will see Wynne Evans and Katya Jones will dance to MIKA’s Grace Kelly whilst Sarah Hadland and Vito Coppola will perform to Proud by Heather Small, a nod to her character from the popular BBC sitcom, Miranda.
JB Gill will be back alongside Lauren Oakley following Amy Dowden's sad exit from the competition and they'll be performing a Samba to Mas Que Nada by Sergio Mendes while Pete Wicks and Jowita Przystal will aim to bounce back with a couple's choice routine to The Best by Nicotine Dolls.
Another couple's choice will be performed by Chris McCausland and Dianne Buswell to John Lennon’s Instant Karma! (We All Shine On) while Montell Douglas and Johannes Radebe, who survived Sunday’s (November 3) dance-off, will return with a Paso Doble to The Shapeshifter's Lola’s Theme.
Meanwhile, Jamie Borthwick & Michelle Tsiakkas will perform the Argentine Tango to ‘Do I Wanna Know?’ by Arctic Monkeys, Shayne Ward & Nancy Xu will dance the Rumba to Cyndi Lauper’s Time After Time and Tasha Ghouri and Aljaž Škorjanec will perform a Quickstep to Fantasy by Mariah Carey.
Former Strictly pro Ola Jordan has now commented on who she thinks will be at risk this weekend and while she agrees with Shayne Ward being the bookies' current favourite to leave Strictly this weekend, the former contest winner also said: "It’s about time Wynne was in the bottom two".
Speaking to Mecca Bingo, the dancer said: "This weekend, I think Shayne and Nancy are at risk with their Rumba – the Rumba is a tricky dance for the celebrity partners so I would definitely say they’re at risk.

"JB and Lauren could be at risk with their Samba, too. I also think it’s possibly time for Wynne to be in the bottom two. I don’t think it’s Pete and Jowita’s time yet, their Couple’s Choice might be quite good! I think Shayne is at risk this weekend, then it’s between JB and Wynne."
Simon Kew, spokesperson from Grosvenor Sport, has also explained who's at risk of being eliminated this weekend, saying: "The competition heats up a notch this weekend as the remaining nine Strictly couples will battle it out on the dancefloor once again. They’ll be hoping to make it through to the half-way point of the series, which sees the celebrities perform in the iconic Blackpool Tower Ballroom.
"Shayne Ward remains our favourite to leave this weekend. He was 6/4 to be eliminated last weekend but defied the odds – but now he’s been priced at 10/11. They’ve got the Rumba this weekend which is a hard dance – Shayne has really got to give a stellar performance to stay.
"Shayne sits 5th in the leaderboard, whilst others in the competition find themselves in the danger zone too – with Wynne, JB and Pete hot on his dancing heels in the elimination betting."
Simon continued: "The second favourite to be eliminated is Wynne Evans. He was 7/2 to leave the competition last weekend, but now he’s priced up at 7/4, so he could be at risk. Wynne and his dance partner Katya Jones are dancing the American Smooth to Grace Kelly by MIKA. Will we be seeing him in Blackpool?”
"Pete Wicks is priced up at 8/1, although it appears evident that he has a big following so he could easily be safe this weekend. He’s dancing to Couple’s Choice, which fans have argued it’s a free pass through to Blackpool. Elsewhere in the elimination market, Jamie and Montell are both priced at 10/1, Tasha 80/1, Chris and Sarah both 100/1."
