BBC Strictly Come Dancing's Dianne Buswell supported after message to 'incredible partner' Chris McCausland

Dianne Buswell has been flooded with messages of love and support after sending a public message to her celebrity dance partner Chris McCausland.

The pair are continuing to go from strength to strength in the current run of Strictly Come Dancing and are preparing to perform in week eight of the BBC One dance contest this Saturday night (November 9).

During the first ever 'Icons Week' last weekend, Chris and Dianne delivered a Tango to rock band KISS' hit Rock and Roll All Nite, in which they sported dark outfits and eye makeup reminiscent of the rock band before scoring 29 out of a possible 40 points from the judges.

Following the news he'd made it through to another week, Chris took to X, formerly known as Twitter, and said: "If I'm honest, I was quite down on myself in that interview clip straight after the dance that was on the results show tonight because I thought I had made a pretty big mistake. I realised later that I hadn't. I'm feeling good. Thank you for all of your support! X#Strictly."

Now, Chris is focusing on his next routine, which will see him and Dianne perform a Couple's Choice to Instant Karma! (We All Shine On) by John Lennon.

But as they work hard ahead of their next performance, Dianne took some time to reflect on how far they have come as she revealed she'd watched back the Strictly 2024 launch show from September.

Sharing a clip of her and Chris during the colourful group number which gave viewers their first taste of the celebrities dance moves before comparing it to some of their more recent Strictly numbers, Dianne said on Instagram: "I re watched the launch show on my way into work today and It made me smile with pride.

"Sometimes when you’re constantly working with the same person daily you forget about how it started and how far they have come! So just a little appreciation post to my incredible partner you are doing an amazing job! @chrismccauslandcomedy."

Her fellow Strictly pro Carlos Gu was quick to respond to the post, writing: "Sista, you have no idea you’ve changed and elevated so much of what show about with Us pro, you are a star!" Amy Dowden also shared: "You’re doing the most incredible job and both utter joy to watch! Love you." Former Strictly contestant Dr Punam Krishan replied: "An amazing team you both make - love watching you both every week."

And Dianne's fans and followers were also keen to show their support. @shazatak59 said: "He's excelling because of your incredible training and his amazing willingness to trust you and the process. It's truly humbling. We love you both!" @courtneygroves25 commented: "Chris's improvement is unbelievable! he's come so far since the launch show! Shows how amazing you are as a teacher! the best team."
