Gemma Atkinson jokingly says Gorka Marquez is 'snide' as he makes refusal after apology

Gemma Atkinson has joked that her other half Gorka Marquez is being a bit 'snide' as he refused to join her on her quest to fill their home - with animals.

While they're no stranger to it, the couple are currently spending time apart as dancer Gorka competes in this year's Strictly Come Dancing. As well as performing each weekend at the London-based studio, Gorka is also busy training alongside celebrity dance partner Dr Punam Krishan in Glasgow, where the pracitsing GP is based.

So Gemma and Gorka rely on FaceTime to stay in touch as their working commitments take them in different directions and away from their children - Mia and Thiago.

It means Gemma has been solo parenting since the Strictly season got underway, with Gorka recently sharing the 'guilt' he feels about missing out on time with his young children - Mia, five, and one-year-old Thiago, while also acknowledging that what he does is for them.

But Gemma is clearly keeping him updated on the ins and outs of life back in Greater Manchester - including providing him with her latest request. Taking to Instagram over the weekend, the Hits Radio host shared a video of a woman showing her followers her 'cow's bath routine'. Sharing the post to her Instagram Story, Gemma laughed: "Instantly googled 'pet cows'".

It wasn't until later that she returned and posted a picture of herself on FaceTime to Gorka and while she looked excited about her latest idea, Gorka looked less than impressed. "It's just getting ridiculous now, Gemah'" Gemma wrote mimicking her fiancé's response. "Won't let me have a cow," she hilariously clarified.

Now, Gorka has been accosted by fans over the request. During a Q&A on Instagram with his followers on Wednesday (October 9), Gorka was asked: "Why won't you let Gemma have a cow?"

Responding with a video message, Gorka said from his car: "Why? Why would you want to live with a cow? If I let her have a cow, I will have a zoo. I'm already worrying, after these few months when I go back home I'm going to have a zoo in the house. Yesterday was a cat, now we have two squirrel and she wants a cow.

"I don't know what it's going to be next, honestly. I'm going to go home and have a tiger one day... Maybe not. I know Mia wants a horse, also. So, there's no space!" Gemma then reshared the post to her own Instagram Story and joked: "Proper snide!"

Meanwhile, Gorka was also left apologising in the Q&A as he was reminded to use captions on his posts for those who are deaf or face hearing difficulties.

A follower said: "Please can you use subtitles on stories? Deaf follower over here!" In response, Gorka profusely apologised as he said: "I am so sorry and I truly apologise. I'm not used to it and I need to get better at that. I think because when I do stories I rush and the forget to put the captions there."

The 34-year-old sincerely added: "I promise you now, I'm going to try my best to always put captions. And I'm sorry and apologises. Lots of love!"
