ITV Coronation Street Joel Deering's real killer 'revealed' in new flashback
by Olivia Wheeler · PlymouthLiveCoronation Street has announced a new suspect in the explosive Joel Deering murder whodunnit.
It was recently revealed that missing evil solicitor Joel, played by Calum Lill, had been murdered with everyone treated as a suspect on the cobbles. All soap watchers know so far is that Joel was murdered on the night of September 27 and it is believed he was killed with a heavy item such as a crowbar.
Earlier this month, the hit ITV soap revealed that a series of dramatic flashbacks will help viewers piece the puzzle together with fans already seeing flashbacks involving suspects Ronnie Bailey (Vinta Morgan), Mason Radcliffe (Luca Toolan), Ed Bailey (Trevor Michael Georges) and Joel's ex Dee-Dee Bailey (Channique Sterling-Brown).
Meanwhile, episodes last week saw the spotlight on DS Lisa Swain, played by Vicky Myers, and Carla Connor, played by Alison King. With Ronnie, Mason, Ed, Dee-Dee, DS Swain and Carla all teased as suspects, the hit ITV soap has added another name to the mix.
With the Joel murder investigation still unsolved, DC Kit Green, played by Jacob Roberts, has been coming under pressure to get a result.
However, has his reluctance to take advice on some lines of enquiry from fellow detective DS Swain been down to his own involvement in Joel’s death?
On tonight's episode, Monday 4 November, soap watchers will see another shock flashback on the night of September 27, where it sees a clearly agitated Kit deleting a phone call while snatching a bottle of whiskey from the Rovers bar.
And a second flashback sparks more suspicion as it sees Kit on the wrong side of the law once more, leaving viewers wondering if the Weatherfield cop is Joel's real killer?
It comes as episodes this week see Dee-Dee break down and confess to her father Ed that she killed Joel after finding out he was about to do a runner.
Later, Dee-Dee asserts that she’s going to hand herself into the police but Ed’s horrified and tries to talk her out of it. Is Dee-Dee really responsible or is it actually Kit and could this lead to an exit for the character who has been on the cobbles since 2022?
Coronation Street continues on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 8pm on ITV and ITV X.
