Rupali Ganguly's Stepdaughter Esha Claims Actor Hit Her Mom, Says 'She Slept On Bed My Father, Mother Shared'

Rupali Ganguly's stepdaughter Esha Verma has levelled more allegations against her father and stepmother, accusing them of behavior that caused lasting trauma.

An Old Facebook post of Esha Verma, the daughter of Ashwin Verma and stepdaughter of actress Rupali Ganguly, went viral recently where she accused Rupali of being in a relationship with Ashwin while he was married to his second wife. Now Esha has levelled more allegations against her father and stepmother, accusing them of behavior that caused lasting trauma. In a recent interview, Esha disclosed details of her family history, claiming that Rupali Ganguly intruded into her family’s personal space in New Jersey and was a key factor in her parents’ separation. 

"Rupali Ganguly slept on my parents' bed"

In an interview with Bollywood Bubble, Esha described the painful incidents, alleging that Rupali stayed in the marital bed shared by her parents. Esha claimed, “I don’t know what Rupali and Ashwin will now say further to these allegations and comments. I know my father has said something on Twitter now X. He said that Rupali was not involved, and that is the biggest lie because Rupali was the one who came to my house in New Jersey and slept on my mother’s bed—the bed that my father and mother shared. She has done so much, physically, mentally, verbally, and emotionally, abusing me and my mom. I feel like that was a lot of trauma I had to deal with and suffer with and my mom did too. We suffered a lot, and we don’t have that exposure as she does.” 

Esha says Rupali Ganguly asked her father to divorce her mother

She further alleged that Rupali played a significant role in encouraging Ashwin to pursue a divorce, causing immense emotional and mental harm to her and her mother. 

Esha further commented on the complexity of her family dynamics, stating, “First things first, it’s both parties’ fault for an affair...she comes into our lives. She has made my father, like she told my father to give the divorce papers and this happened twice to my mother. And my father would run off to India to be with her. And regardless of that, having an affair while being married is completely wrong.” She condemned her father’s actions as well, emphasizing that he failed his responsibilities to his family and prioritised his relationship with Rupali over his duties as a father and husband.

Reflecting on her high school years, Esha recalled the heartache she endured, feeling helpless as her family fell apart. “I was devastated, crying in high school because of the women who deliberately came into our lives, who broke my parent’s marriage, who physically hit my mother in person in Mumbai in my grandparent’s house. To see her win, that’s the most devastating thing which I have gone through. I’m not pinpointing just Rupali here; I have also gathered the strength to say that it is my father’s fault. He was also a very abusive man physically and emotionally so it’s a two-party street. At first, when this news went viral, I was really scared; he told me to take down the post,” she said in the interview. 

"My father never stood up for me"

Esha shared that her attempts to address the issue publicly were met with resistance from her father. “Whenever I tried to open up about it, he tried to shut me down. I wanted love, respect and connection with my father, but for more than 20 years now he has not been part of my life. I don’t think he would even come to my marriage. After my father had told me to take down the post, I just reflected and suffered on my own my entire life... Why should I listen to a man who never supported us and put women who he had an affair with and put his wife first. He never stood up for me and my mother. He never set up for me; he never publicly apologised to me; he never acknowledged me and my sister on the post. It was always him and their son.”

In 2020, Esha posted on Facebook, detailing accusations against Rupali Ganguly, which have recently resurfaced and gained widespread attention. In the post, she claimed that Rupali had maintained a long affair with Ashwin during his second marriage, calling her “cruel-hearted” and accusing her of manipulating family dynamics. She further alleged that Rupali controlled her father’s actions, including limiting his communication with Esha and her sister. 

What Rupali Ganguly's husband Ashwin Verma responded

Ashwin Verma responded to the old post and released a statement on Instagram where he expressed regret over the situation and acknowledged the lingering pain his daughter feels. He stated that divorce is a painful experience and mentioned, “I do have two daughters from previous relationships, something Rupali and I have always been open about that I care a great deal about. I understand that my younger daughter still holds a lot of hurt about the dissolution of her parent's relationship, as divorce is a difficult experience that can greatly affect and harm the children of that marriage. But marriages end for many reasons, and my relationship with my second wife had multiple challenges that led to our separation—challenges that were between she and I and that had nothing to do with any other person. I only want the best for my children and my wife, and it saddens me to see anyone being pulled into cycles of negativity by the media.” 

Esha Verma, 26, is the daughter of Ashwin and Sapna Verma and currently resides in the United States. Ashwin and Sapna were married in 1997 but parted ways in 2008. Before marrying actress Rupali Ganguly in 2013, Ashwin had been married twice. Together, Rupali and Ashwin share a son named Rudransh.
