One husband was left utterly astonished after witnessing his wife's unusual eating habit, and was wondering whether others indulged in the same thing.

It's common knowledge that incorporating five portions of fruits and veggies is key for a healthy, balanced diet, but this gentleman's spouse took her nutritional intake to a surprising level, leaving him baffled.

In disbelief, he shared his discovery on Reddit: "Just caught my wife eating a whole kiwi. Skin in all. Like it was a frigging apple," expressing his amazement. "Has anyone seen this before or do I need to section the Mrs?"

Meanwhile, Holland & Barrett say there's no oddity in enjoying a kiwi complete with its skin, touting its underestimated health advantages.

They explained: "Kiwifruit is delicious, exotic, and one of the healthiest fruits you can eat. But what you might not have realised is you can eat the skin as well. In fact, the skin has a higher concentration of antioxidants than the flesh in a kiwifruit."

The zesty exterior isn't just nutrient-dense but also boasts an impressive amount of vitamin E, directly benefiting the skin alongside its high fibre content.

If you're put off by the furry texture when preparing a kiwi, experts at Holland & Barrett suggest "using a clean towel, a vegetable brush, or a spoon to lightly scrape it off". For eating, you either "bite into it whole" or "cut it into slices like an apple".

One Redditor exclaimed: "Kiwi skin eating gang rise up". Another replied: "I have found my people".

A woman shared her experience: "I had this same reaction when I watched my partner eat a kiwi, skin and all. But he convinced me to try it and I'm not one to shy away from a challenge so I gave it a shot! And I'm now a kiwi skin eater. I do rinse the thing and rub it dry and it gets rid of loose hairs on it!"

Others commented with enthusiasm for the idea: "Sorry mate, kiwi skin is banging," "Try them sliced with the skin on- the skin is citrussy and it's a nice crispy contrast to the soft, sweet fruit", and "It's where all the fibre is!"
