Netflix is well-known for its jaw-dropping documentaries, and their latest addition doesn't disappoint.

The new documentary Martha traces the rise of America's first self-made female billionaire, Martha Stewart, with insights from the woman herself. The 83-year-old businesswoman is often hailed as the country's 'original' influencer, leaving her Wall Street stockbroker job to build an empire that leveraged her image as a homemaker.

Her entrepreneurial journey kicked off in the early seventies when she started her own catering company serving high-end clients. Less than ten years later, she published her first cook book 'Entertaining', which was a massive hit and laid the foundation for her business to branch out into more books, a magazine, and a TV show, before consolidating everything under one brand - Martha Stewart Omnimedia.

However, her empire came tumbling down when she was sentenced to five months in prison in 2004 over an insider trading scandal. Despite this setback, she spent years rebuilding her reputation, with a little help from pop star Justin Bieber.

Her relationship with the star began when she interviewed him for her magazine early in his career. Following her release from prison, the singer supported her products and interacted with her social media campaigns, reports the Mirror.

Martha even took part in Comedy Central's Roast of Justin Bieber where she met her now long-time friend, Snoop Dogg. Since then, Martha and Snoop have co-hosted cooking shows together and even presented at the Paris Olympics.

The intricate life story of the businesswoman has captivated viewers of the new documentary. One viewer admitted they "gasped so many times" while watching, while another commented: "The Netflix Martha Stewart doc makes her seem absolutely terrifying and I am obsessed."

A third viewer revealed: "You know, I've always known Martha Stewart as this famous pretty old lady but I never knew how far back she came. She literally built her empire brick by brick, had it crumbled down, then rebuilt it in her 70's? Damn! Respect!"

"The documentary film Martha on Netflix was so good! " praised another documentary enthusiast. "Martha Stewart has lived a remarkable life and I found her to be admirable. What a boss."

"The Martha Stewart documentary just unironically inspired and moved me," shared a fifth viewer.
