Prince George's hobby not shared by Charlotte and Louis - but Kate and William are 'carefully monitoring'

Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis have a very hands-on mum and dad in Prince William and Kate, but even the Prince and Princess of Wales have their struggles.

Prince William and Kate, despite being incredibly hands-on parents who prioritise the well-being of their children—Prince George, 11, Princess Charlotte, nine, and Prince Louis, six—face parenting challenges that many across the nation can relate to.

The sporty royal couple have encouraged their kids to engage in a variety of active pastimes such as tennis, rugby, football, and more.

Yet, it's Prince George's keen interest in video games that has posed a unique challenge for them. To manage this, William and Kate have set certain rules around George's gaming to monitor his screen time closely.

This detail about Prince George's hobby was shared by Prince William himself during a visit to BAFTA's headquarters in 2022, where he has served as president for over a decade. He disclosed that regulating gaming and screen time was a current concern, especially for George.

"At the moment it's trying to regulate the gaming... monitoring screen time. Got to be careful of that," said William at the royal engagement. "They're fascinated by it. George particularly. He's more interested in it.

The other two are a bit too small at the moment but they love the films. I adore film and gaming as well."

Kate and William are said to have implemented a ban on iPads for their children when they were very young, instead promoting imaginative play and outdoor activities. As reported in Us Weekly back in 2018, an anonymous source close to the couple stated, "They're very much seen as Mummy and Daddy's toys, not for children.

"As two people who grew up without gadgets for entertainment themselves, William and Kate are firm believers in toys, outdoor play, and encouraging an active imagination."

Prince William recently revealed during a visit to Birley Community Pool that Prince George has taken up a rather adventurous new hobby, reports the Mirror.

The Prince of Wales confessed that they took ten-year-old George scuba diving and he 'absolutely loved it'.

He said: "He was ten years old, we took him under, thinking he'd freak out, but he absolutely loved it. It's just introduced him to the world of water."
