Rylan Clark lashed out at 'rude b******s' following a backlash over his road rage rant concerning zebra crossing etiquette.

The BBC Radio 2 presenter swiftly deleted a tweet in which he branded a pedestrian a 'rude p**ck' for not expressing gratitude when Rylan allowed him to cross the road.

On his Twitter account, he vented: "I know it's the law and that pedestrians have right of way at zebra crossings... BUT SAY THANK YOU OR POP UR HAND UP. Rude pr**ks... (Stuck in traffic and annoyed)."

Social media users were quick to criticise Rylan's outburst reports the Mirror, leading to the tweet being taken down and shown as 'no longer available'.

One user quipped: "Ah, I see Rylan is jeopardising his National Treasure status by having a go at the zebra crossing community. I'm sorry, but this topic isn't as black and white as you might think," while another declared, "I love Rylan, but I will take my time at a zebra crossing, and will shout at any driver that doesn't respect my RIGHT OF WAY."

"It doesn't take a second to say thank you, some people are just so entitled and rude," one social media user expressed, judging the manners of those involved. Differing from the consensus, another added their two pence, saying: "Just can't get with you on this one."

Moreover, Rylan amused followers when he shared a humorous GIF of Jerry Seinfeld in a separate tweet shortly afterwards accompanying the text: "Where's yo manners".

In good spirits, a fan enquired if he was "still stuck in traffic".

The episode unfolds in the wake of Rylan Clark unveiling the heartfelt reason behind his departure from hosting the beloved Strictly Come Dancing's It Takes Two. The versatile entertainer stepped down from his presenting duties on the popular BBC spin-off in April of the previous year, following a successful four-year stint.

In April, Rylan moved his fans when he shared an emotional missive via his social media channels stating: "Been a pleasure @bbcstrictly."

In detail, Rylan added: "After four fantastic years it's time for me to hang up my glittery jacket and say goodbye to It Takes Two. I've had the best time hosting alongside Janette and Zoe and I can't thank the amazing team enough for always putting on a great show.

"I've been welcomed into the Strictly family and will firmly hold that title dear to me. The time has come for me to pass on the baton to someone else and explore what else life has for me. Thank you Strictly, you will always have my heart...and my dancing feet."

In a candid chat, he opened up about his departure: "I've been doing the same type of job for 10 years. For me, I just got to the point, 'What do I want? What would I like to be? Who do I want to be? What show do I want to do in the future?", he divulged to The Sun.

"And it's really hard to try to work that out while you're doing different things. So I had to take that step back, have a minute to myself, let it breathe, and not turn on the TV and see yourself while you're watching what everyone else is doing."
