Celebrity Masterchef's Gregg Wallace 'eats half a kilo' of item after 5st weight loss

Gregg Wallace, who lost five stone in weight, has opened up about his diet and the foods he eats for breakfast, including a rather large portion of a certain food

Gregg Wallace says he has "no need to snack" as he consumes "half a kilo" of a certain breakfast staple every day.

The Celebrity Masterchef judge, who'll appear in the final tonight, once shed an impressive five stone to dodge diabetes risk, shared his breakfast favourites.

Speaking on The Paul Chowdhry PudCast admits he loves a traditional full English. He also sticks true to his "proper South-East Londoner" roots with a pot of cockles with vinegar, pepper, and bread and butter, which he finds "lovely".

But then he revealed he consumes a whopping amount of one particular item, when asked if his breakfast has changed in recent times.

Gregg said: "Ooh yeah, yoghurt and oats and honey. Yeah, yeah, yeah - but a load of it. Half a kilo. Yeah, 500g of yoghurt I can eat", prompting Paul to probe how he manages such quantity at breakfast.

Gregg explained: "They come in great big pots, right. I think it's supposed to be like for a family."

Skeptical, Paul questioned the wisdom of consuming so much yoghurt. Gregg insisted: "Listen, I'm 12 stone so I'm obviously doing something alright. So I eat 500g of normally high protein yoghurt."

He confessed he jazzes it up with either honey or maple syrup and "loads of fruit", which sustains him until lunch.

In June, reports highlighted that the TV presenter managed to slim down "without dieting," by simply altering his lifestyle and making healthier choices.

He achieved his weight loss by eliminating snacks, ultra-processed foods, and takeaways from his diet. Rather than following a specific plan, he focused on eating a balanced diet and preparing nutritious meals daily.

On his website GreggWallace.Health, Gregg mentioned that no food is completely off-limits when trying to lose weight, but caution should be exercised with snacks.

He shared: "Strict diets are hard to maintain. This is about swapping bad habits for good ones at your own pace."

Further details emerged in April revealing that Gregg, who once tipped the scales at 16st 7lb, specifically cut out three things - "fried food, sugar and booze".

Speaking to The Sun, he previously said: "When I was at my biggest I was having a daily fry up, fish and chips once per week, takeaway a couple more times and drinking beer nearly every day."
