Aldi's iconic Kevin the Carrot is officially back for Christmas in a brand new advert that shoppers have already called "absolutely fantastic."

The supermarket kicked off this week by unveiling its festive 2024 advert earlier this morning (November 4). Narrated by British acting legend Jim Broadbent, it sees the popular vegetable on a mission to save Christmas once more.

In the 90 second clip, viewers witness the Christmas spirit being kidnapped by thieves dubbed the 'Humbugs'. The actions lead to the festive village, where the advert takes place, being plunged into darkness.

This sets our hero Kevin, alongside his sidekick Katie, on a 'Mission Impossible' style adventure to rescue the holiday season. Escaping numerous 'booby traps', all while dressed up as spies to infiltrate the evil Dr Humbug's lair.

The light-hearted advert also gives viewers a sneak peak of Aldi's Christmas food range that will be available this year. Once the carrot duo has 'freed' the Christmas spirit and defeated the villain, the ad ends with an impressive spread of party food available to buy this year.

With Aldi's Kevin being a popular Christmas character, it's no surprise that his ninth outing is already a hit online. After the supermarket shared the 2024 advert on social media, numerous loyal fans quickly praised his return as "a wonderful start" to the holiday season.

One Kevin fan gushed: "Absolutely love it! Your team is the best."

A second Aldi shopper praised: "Aldi nailing it yet again with their Christmas ad. Love it!"

Someone else who loved the advert said: "Absolutely fantastic, excellent sense of humour, well done marketing team."

Another similarly happy customer penned: "Brilliant what a wonderful start to the run up to CHRISTMAS the children will love it. Top marks once again you've set the bar high for others to follow."

The launch of the Christmas 2024 advert comes just after loyal Kevin fans were worried that the iconic mascot wouldn't return for this year. Last week, the supermarket began teasing its ad with the Humbug characters and the 'festive spirit' - but no Kevin.

Aldi also isn't the only supermarket to unveil its Christmas 2024 advert early this year. It follows Sainsbury's heart-warming clip that has been inspired by the Road Dahl classic 'The BFG', with narration provided by Stephen Fry.

Meanwhile, John Lewis has also begun to tease its highly anticipated advert for Christmas. While the exact date for the full clip remains unknown, the retailer has shared two sneak peak's, its latest being narrated by Samantha Morton and titled "Give Knowingly."
