Gaming peripheral company '8BitDo' has launched a new line of NES-inspired keycaps, which can be used on mechanical keyboards. These are apparently the same designs from its retro keyboard, which was released in 2023 (thanks, The Verge).

These keycaps will set you back $49.99 USD (or your regional equivalent) and come with 165 keys and are compatible with MX-style switches. You'll also get a keycap puller. Here are some other details, along with a closer look:

  • Dye-sublimation PBT keycaps
  • MDA-like height
  • Supports 65%, 75%, 80%, 95%, 100%, and split (Alice) layout

I misread this as "NES-style kneecaps." Now I'm disappointed that I'll never get prosthetic gaming appendages.

Finally. I needed a keyboard with a number pad when they announced their first one. Then they made the number pad but I already got myself a different board.

Now I can have the NES keyboard, finally.

If only I had 50 USD…
And a key board.

Missed opportunity for the subheading to say "Now you're typing with power!"

I have on idea if my keyboard can swap out keys but if it can i will be nabbing these!

o_o' If you're gonna sell these things, they had better glow.
