Wednesday's edition of Good Morning Britain saw a shake-up in its regular presenting team. While usually anchored by Susanna Reid with either Ed Balls or Richard Madeley, the ITV breakfast programme welcomed financial wizard Martin Lewis to the desk.

Greeting viewers, Susanna was delighted with Martin's company, saying: "Martin, it's wonderful to have you back in the studio! " To which Martin, with a smile, replied: "It's wallet Wednesday."

Susanna informed viewers that Martin wasn't just there for a chat; he was on hand to provide essential tips on how to navigate the soaring energy bills, as reported by the Mirror. Despite his appearance only two weeks prior, the situation had changed significantly with the energy price cap rising by 10%, prompting Martin to say: "I wasn't quite sure we'd be doing this but there's a lot that's changed."

Martin then helped three people in the studio who were uncertain about whether to fix their energy tariffs in light of the recent price cap increase.

Using a comparison site and calculating live, Martin helped viewers see potential savings on their future energy costs. Susanna also probed one guest about her hesitation to tackle her energy issues before coming on the show, reports Wales Online.

The guest openly admitted: "Honestly? I am a busy mum of two. I work and if we've survived the day the thought then of going onto my energy site and finding a password that I've forgotten it all just feels like too much."

However, Martin quickly asked her about the actual time investment required to manage her energy bills. To this, she laughingly said: "I have to say, I'm embarrassed at how quick it was. It was less than three minutes for me to get a list of comparisons."

Martin Lewis’s presence on the show did not go unnoticed by enthusiasts, as viewers shared their joy at his co-hosting stint with Susanna on Twitter. Fans showed their support, with one tweeting: "Yay! @MartinSLewis on GMB."

Another viewer applauded, expressing: "Good morning Susanna and Martin what a brilliant job Helping people with their fuel bills and Pension credit etc."

Another message conveyed clear excitement: "Wahhhoooo! " Furthermore, another tweet read: "Good Morning @susannareid100 @MartinSLewis and all the crew at Television Centre. I'm looking forward to another great Wallet Wednesday show."
