ITV's Lorraine Kelly, a household name with over 40 years in the television industry, is best known for her stints on Good Morning Britain and GMTV. She now hosts her own programme, 'Lorraine', where she engages with celebrities, delves into current affairs, and explores topics from fashion to food.

Away from the spotlight of her show, Lorraine has been involved in life-saving campaigns and numerous charity endeavours. Her efforts in philanthropy and journalism have earned her a CBE , reports the Mirror.

Throughout her illustrious career and charitable pursuits, one person has remained a constant support – her husband Steve Smith. The couple has enjoyed a 32-year marriage, which began when they met at TV-am, where Steve was working as a cameraman.

While Lorraine is a familiar face to many, Steve prefers to keep a lower profile. Here's a glimpse into the enduring relationship between Lorraine Kelly and Steve Smith after three decades.

How did Lorraine Kelly meet her husband?

It all started at TV-am, where Lorraine instantly knew Steve was "the one" upon seeing him. Recounting to Woman and Home, Lorraine reminisced: "He walked into the TV-am office 28 years ago where I was working as a reporter and he was part of the crew, and I thought, 'That'll do, I'm having that.'".

The pair were pals for a whole year before romance blossomed. Their relationship took a turn during a work trip to Glencoe, Scotland.

Lorraine has previously recounted: "We were staying in a tiny hotel in the middle of nowhere and I got him incredibly drunk on tequila before making my move."

She humorously added, "The way I remember it is that I leapt on him like a ninja and he had absolutely no defence! ".

Lorraine's blissful union with Steve began officially when they tied the knot on September 5, 1992, at Mains Castle in Dundee. A couple of years into their marriage, they welcomed their daughter Rosie into the world.

While Lorraine is a familiar face on TV, Steve prefers to keep out of the spotlight. Lorraine has said that Steve gets the "funny hours and the silliness" that come with her celebrity status but has no interest in being part of it himself.

She believes this understanding is crucial to their lasting marriage. Lorraine has also shared, "His idea of hell on earth would be at something like a premiere. It would be like having needles stuck in his eyes. That does help. It must be very odd being with someone who enjoys walking down a red carpet."

Earlier this year, the couple received exciting news as their 29-year-old daughter Rosie announced her pregnancy. Rosie expressed her joy, saying: "We could not be more excited – you're already so loved little one."

She also shared a photo of her 12-week sonogram scan, revealing that her baby was now 'the size of a fig'.

Rosie has given birth to little Billie on August 29, sparking joy in the family. On social media, an elated Lorraine couldn't contain her excitement as she exclaimed: "I have been BURSTING to share this wonderful news with you. " "Baby Billie is an angel and I'm so proud of @rosiekellysmith and @stevewhite94 who will be the best parents."

She added: "I'm delighted to be Granny Smith and can't wait to go on adventures."

Lorraine Kelly's personal life often captures attention, especially since she resides in a picturesque riverside abode. After living in Dundee, Lorraine and her husband Steve moved to Buckinghamshire back in 2017 when their daughter Rosie flew the nest.

The move was principally driven by Lorraine's demanding job in London, which used to involve frequent travel. Their current home is estimated to be worth around £2 million and showcases the couple's refined tastes.

Social media glimpses into their home reveal a spacious kitchen, several bedrooms, a cosy living room that features a log burner, and a conservatory bathed in natural light.

Their sprawling garden isn't without its charms either, boasting a dedicated guest house that welcomes visiting friends and relatives.
