ITV's Lorraine Kelly had an emotional catch-up with cruise expert Jane McDonald on Tuesday (September 24). The singer tragically lost her partner of 15 years, Eddie Rothe, to lung cancer when he was just 67.

This came shortly after the death of her beloved mother, Jean, in 2018, leaving Jane heartbroken. Jane was discussing the launch of her unique cruise experience on Lorraine, where she will take fans on a European tour from Amsterdam to Oslo.

She will host a Q&A session and headline two exclusive shows on the ship, alongside some special guests. However, during the conversation, she revealed some personal details, including that she now has a housemate as her home feels "too big" to live in alone.

Jane is currently sharing her home with her long-term friend Sue Ravey, who she met when they were both singers. Sue now works as Jane's PA.

Jane said: "It's the best thing ever. She's a great cook, she does my hair and make-up. She puts the bins out! You know, what more could I want? And she's absolutely hilarious."

Sue gave a wave from backstage to Lorraine and Jane, with Lorraine commenting: "How lovely to have that, because despite your successes and all the amazing things you do, you don't want to go back to an empty house."

Jane concurred, saying: "No you don't. Speaking of the house, it's too big. We have this huge house that all we do is clean, and my nails can't take it, Lorraine! So I think we're going to downsize now, we're looking forward to that."

Her Celebrity Gogglebox co-star Sue added in a chat with the Yorkshire Post: "I was invited by Jane - we both lived on our own. She's got a rather large bungalow in 'Shakey Wakey' and I spend most of my time travelling between Wakefield and Doncaster."

"We do spend a lot of time together anyway and she invited me to move into a part of the house."

After splitting from her partner, Sue moved in, noting: "We already know how to be together because we've worked together. We know so much about each other, we know each other's ways. It's a bit like living with family."
