Liam Payne's funeral 'to be held this week' as details emerge

Liam tragically passed away nearly three weeks ago in Buenos Aires, Argentina, after falling from his hotel balcony on October 16. Following his son's death, the late singer's father, Geoff, travelled to the Argentine capital.
Local paper La Nacion reported that Payne's body has since been moved to the British Cemetery in the Chacarita area of Buenos Aires and the process to repatriate his body to the UK has begun. The location of the funeral has not been publicly disclosed, but fans have been gathering outside St Peter's Church in Wolverhampton, leaving flowers, cards and notes.
It is understood that the body of the father-of-one could be flown back to Britain this week, with a funeral held shortly thereafter. La Nacion suggests this could be as early as Wednesday, reports Birmingham Live.
The report added: "When he arrived in the country on October 18, Geoff Payne was informed that taking him back to the United Kingdom could take between four and five days, but due to the circumstances of his death the process took longer than expected."
Where will the funeral be?
Reports indicate that Payne's funeral could take place in his home city of Wolverhampton.
Hailing from the Bushbury area and with his family now in Codsall, South Staffordshire, the late celebrity's funeral is anticipated to be a significant event. Sources share that the service for the star will likely see a host of celebrity friends paying their respects, and it is understood some may lend their voices to sing in his honour.

A source confided to RadarOnline.com: "Liam's funeral is going to be packed with A-listers as he was so well-loved in the showbiz community, and so many of them are so sad about his tragic death."
"His family want to keep his farewell low-key and respectful, as it's what Liam would have wanted as he was so down to earth. But there are going to be a series of song tributes from some very big acts as he loved singing and making music until the end."
What about the autopsy?
Questions remain surrounding the circumstances of his death with preliminary autopsy results pointing to 'multiple traumas' sustained in a fall from a hotel balcony, leaving fans worldwide in mourning.
Will there be a permanent tribute?
In his memory, more than 4,600 have signed a petition for a permanent memorial in Wolverhampton, whilst another campaign for 'Liam’s Law' has garnered almost 134,000 supporters.
Payne, father to Bear with Girls Aloud’s Cheryl Cole, was spotted at a Niall Horan concert in Buenos Aires with girlfriend Kate Cassidy not long before his passing. Cassidy has since confirmed her return to the US, leaving Payne in Argentina.
