Thousands of Brits are lured to the sun-soaked beaches of Benidorm, enticed by the sizzling weather and budget-friendly drinks. Yet, a local has recently sounded the alarm for tourists about a notorious hotspot for scams.

Party organiser Frank, known as @frankthestagman on TikTok, took his followers on a virtual tour of this dubious area. In his clip, he navigates past landmarks like the indoor market and Mariano's, a round-the-clock eatery, before approaching the vicinity opposite the Flash Hotel.

Frank highlighted: "Just before we hit the strip, there's a little police building. I'm going to show you here with a little playground next to it."

He cautioned that this spot is rife with pickpocketing incidents. His partner added: "Ironically, it's also where they tell you, if you have an incident as an English person, such as a robbery, you have to go and report it there."

They described the corner near the small playground, just a stone's throw from the strip, as a "hotspot" for muggings, reports the Daily Record.

Ordinarily, Frank is a champion of all things Benidorm, from its hotels to the vibrant party scene and regular weather updates for would-be visitors. However, he also dedicates part of his online presence to warning travellers about potential hazards.

By raising awareness, he hopes to help holidaymakers stay vigilant and enjoy their vacations without the shadow of crime.

Since the video was posted, it has garnered hundreds of views and sparked a flurry of responses from viewers. Some shared their own unfortunate experiences of crime in the same location.

One person recounted: "Got mugged there two weeks ago - watch, phone and wallet. Police found my wallet the day after, but bank cards gone. Just hotel key and driving licence left."

Another viewer shared their misfortune, writing: "I had my travel wallet stolen as I helped my mum get off the coach. Only just arrived. Lost all my money, passport, tickets. There was a queue of people all in the police station - all been pickpocketed."

However, a third offered a contrasting perspective, saying: "It really scares me, but I came out as a solo female and have zero issues. Was also in your bar. Lovely place - I will be back."
