We're hoping for new Sea of Stars achievements when its major free DLC Throes of the Watchmaker arrives, but before that, we're getting the free Sea of Stars Dawn of Equinox update on November 12. One big addition coming with Dawn of Equinox is local co-op for up to three players, offering a new way to enjoy one of the best Game Pass games out there.

Sea of Stars' Dawn of Equinox update arrives on November 12

"Dawn of Equinox includes some of the most requested features and improvements informed by feedback from players. The update represents Sabotage Studio’s fully realized vision for Sea of Stars’ spectacular adventure," Sabotage Studio says.

"Sea of Stars’ story will be playable in its entirety by up to three players, with allies traversing the world together and mastering a new Co-op Timed Hits combat mechanic," the devs add. "What was initially presented as a very limited 'Single Player +' mode has evolved into a full-fledged Co-op experience." We'll also get "combat 2.0," with Mystery Locks adding a new way to face the game's new enemies, a "revamped" prologue which will add the action in right from the start, and a new cutscene. What's more, a Speedrunner Mode Relic will be added with "a range of features helpful for those looking to set a new personal best or world record," and there will be three difficulty options to choose from when starting a new game.

All this and more arrives on November 12 with Dawn of Equinox, while Sea of Stars' Throes of the Watchmaker DLC launches early next year.
