50 Cent Reveals the Real Reason Behind His Years-Long Beef With Diddy

The powerful music industry titans haven't been seeing eye-to-eye since the mid-2000s.

Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson is getting all the way real about his disdain for Sean “Diddy” Combs. For context, the two haven’t seen eye-to-eye since 2006 when 50 dropped his diss track “The Bomb” and insinuated that Diddy had a hand in the late rapper Biggie’s death back in 1997. It’s been non-stop trolling ever since.

“It seems like I’m doing some extremely outrageous things, but I haven’t. It’s really me just saying what I’ve been saying for 10 years,” he said. “Now it’s becoming more full-facing in the news with the Puffy stuff, but away from that, I’m like, ‘Yo, it’s just my perspective because I stayed away from that stuff the entire time, because this is not my style.’”

Fif’s comments come nearly a month after it was revealed that he’d be officially teaming up with Netflix for upcoming docuseries centered around the disgraced music mogul. It’s set to be produced under 50's G-Unit Film and Television Inc. production banner.

Described as “a story with significant human impact,” the forthcoming project will be a “a complex narrative spanning decades” that goes beyond the headlines and promises to give a “voice to the voiceless” and “present authentic and nuanced perspectives” according to 50 in a statement back in September.

“While the allegations are disturbing, we urge all to remember that Sean Combs’s story is not the full story of hip-hop and its culture. We aim to ensure that individual actions do not overshadow the culture’s broader contributions,” he continued.

As previously reported by The Root, on Sep. 17, Diddy was federally indicted in charges of racketeering conspiracy, sex trafficking and engaging in interstate transportation for prostitution. The allegations against Combs also include sexual abuse, physical abuse, bribery and various drug offenses.
