Actor-politician Kangana Ranaut wants the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) to decide on the release of her political drama Emergency soon, as she and the other producers of the film are incurring losses due to the delay.

Speaking to news agency ANI, Kangana once again highlighted the lack of support from the film industry around Emergency's release. She said, "The way I have made the film, I got no support from the film industry. I am the producer of the film along with other partners. A delayed release is a loss for all. Netflix is also calling repeatedly since the film had to release on the platform after the theatrical release."

She added, "I think the censor board should take the responsibility to release this film at the earliest.”

Earlier, Kangana voiced her frustration over the lack of industry support, contrasting her experience with films like Padmaavat and Udta Punjab, which, despite facing threats, were backed and successfully released.

“Films like Padmaavat and Udta Punjab released well, even after all the threats, but when it comes to my film, no one has stepped up. I’m completely on my own,” she said.

In Emergency, Kangana portrays the formidable Indira Gandhi, India’s late Prime Minister, during one of the country’s most turbulent periods. The film also stars Anupam Kher, Mahima Chaudhary, Milind Soman, Shreyas Talpade, Vishak Nair, and the late Satish Kaushik. Produced by Zee Studios and Manikarnika Films, the film’s music is composed by Sanchit Balhara, Ankit Balhara, and G.V. Prakash Kumar, with the screenplay and dialogues by Ritesh Shah. It was earlier slated to release in theatres on September 6; however, the release was postponed after protests by a certain section of society.
