Ever seen an all-women survival show that fuses glamour with grit, set in the heart of a jungle? Discovery Channel India presents its latest India original in non-fiction entertainment, the Reality Ranis of The Jungle. Hosted by Varun Sood, the show features 12 bold and fearless women who trade their luxurious lifestyles for an "off-grid" adventure, competing to prove their strength and resilience in the wild.

Adapted from Warner Bros.’ hit global format Reality Queens of The Jungle, the Indian edition is set to satisfy the growing demand for reality TV among Indian audiences. Set against the stunning backdrop of the Himalayan jungles, the show challenges a group of powerful women, pushing them to their physical and mental limits.

The first episode of Reality Ranis of The Jungle premiered on September 23, introducing a dynamic lineup of contestants: Pavitra Punia, Eksha Kerung, Bebika Dhurve, Arushi Chawla, Krissann Barretto Karamchandani, Mrunal Shankar, Sifat Sehgal, Jeevika Tyagi, Mira Jagannath, Tejaswi Madivada, Anjali Schmuck, and Christina Biju. Each of these fierce women is determined to survive the elements of nature, game, and each other during their stay in the jungle.

In the first episode, the contestants were greeted with a 'grand welcome' where they were thrown into a unique challenge. Split into pairs, they were tasked with completing specially prepared dishes. The winning duo will earn the power to eliminate another team from the captaincy task, stripping them of their immunity.

In this intense round, where fish was on the menu, Pavitra Punia and Tejaswi Madivada emerged victorious, securing their spot in the competition. They exercised their advantage by eliminating Christeena and Krissann from the captaincy race.

For their second course, the contestants faced an even tougher test as they were served goat’s brain. Despite the intense struggle to stomach the dish, Pavitra Punia and Tejasswi Madivada once again claimed victory. With their second win, they eliminated Arushi and Eksha from the captaincy race, further solidifying their dominance in the competition.

As the competition intensified, the third and fourth challenges raised the stakes, with contestants being served goat eyeballs and testicles. Dominating both rounds, Pavitra Punia and Tejasswi Madivada secured back-to-back victories, eliminating Anjali, Mrunal, Jeevika, and Sifat from the captaincy race.

Given the first challenging task, it looks like the game is all about endurance, where the contestants will have to conquer their fears and fight to become the Rani of the jungle and take home the trophy along with the prize money of Rs 20 lakh.

Following the task, Pavitra and Tejasswi became the first two captains of the house and selected their teams.

Backed by Warner Bros Discovery, the show is all about these Ranis transforming the jungle into their runway as they are set to take over, unleashing their fierce energy and unstoppable spirit. Given the tough terrain and the challenges they are set to face, the concept looks different from the usual stunt-based reality shows.

The 10-episode reality series airs on Discovery Channel and Discovery+ on Monday-Tuesday at 10 pm.
