  • Jr NTR stated that it was a very difficult decision to omit the Daavudi song
  • The filmmakers opted to include the song after audiences requested it a week after release
  • The initial decision aimed to preserve the film's serious tone

Jr NTR and director Koratala Siva elaborated on their collaborative decision to exclude the much-anticipated Daavudi song in the theatrical version of Devara: Part 1. Jr NTR emphasised that the choice was made after thoughtful discussions with Siva and editor Sreekar Prasad.

He stated, “We felt like the film is travelling and getting serious. In fact, the story takes a serious spin, and we felt a song at that point would break the momentum of the narration.”

Despite the popularity of Jr NTR’s dance performances, he underlined the importance of storytelling over entertainment, adding, “While narrating the story, we don’t want to adulterate its essence by including a song at that point.”

Koratala Siva echoed this sentiment, referring to the omission as “Jr NTR’s biggest sacrifice.” He noted that, while they wanted to include the song, they prioritised the film's emotional trajectory over individual moments of spectacle.

Following an outpouring of requests from fans, the filmmakers decided to add Daavudi song to the film a week after its release. They felt this addition would enhance the viewing experience while still aligning with the film’s overall narrative arc. With Daavudi now back in the film, everyone is eager to see how audiences respond to the song and how it fits within the emotional landscape of Devara.
