Amaran box office Day 5: Sivakarthikeyan film sees drop, still earns Rs 10 crore

Sivakarthikeyan and Sai Pallavi-starrer Amaran is doing exceptional business at the box office. The film, which is a biopic on the life of Major Mukund Varadarajan, is likely to enter into the Rs 200-crore club in a few days from now. Amaran passed the crucial Monday test with flying colours. Though the film saw a considerable drop in numbers on Monday, November 4, it still earned in double digits at the domestic box office.

Amaran was released in theatres on October 31 in multiple languages. The film has been receiving positive responses from critics and audiences alike.

During the four-day opening weekend, Amaran earned over Rs 150 crore worldwide. The film faced its first Monday in theatres and is said to have earned approximately Rs 10.25 crore nett at the domestic box office. This is indeed a good sign for the film.

In five days, Amaran earned Rs 93.35 crore nett in India and is likely to enter the Rs 100-crore club today, November 5. The Tamil version of the film recorded an occupancy of 48.59 per cent on November 4.

The biographical war film is an adaptation of the book series, India's Most Fearless: True Stories of Modern Military Heroes by Shiv Aroor and Rahul Singh. A chapter in one of the three books details a mission carried out by Major Mukund Varadarajan.

Jointly produced by Raaj Kamal Films International and Sony Pictures Films India, the film features Sivakarthikeyan, Sai Pallavi, Bhuvan Arora, Rahul Bose, Lallu, Shreekumar, Shyam Mohan, Geetha Kailasam, Umair Ibn Lateef and several others as part of the cast.
