Actor Shama Sikander says a superstar hugged her inappropriately during ad shoot

Popular television actor Shama Sikander, known for her roles in shows such as Yeh Meri Life Hai, recently disclosed an uncomfortable experience during an ad shoot. She revealed that a prominent actor, while improvising, unexpectedly embraced her, making her feel ill at ease. Given the actor's inappropriate behaviour, Sikander shared that she would avoid future collaborations with him.

When asked about the commercial shoot, Shama Sikander told Bollywood Bubble that 'hugging me wasn't part of the shoot initially'. She shared the superstar 'wanted to hug me for some reason'. Shama said, "You know you understand the vibe some people have, so when he was shooting with me, he improvised, and he said he would put the jewellery on his wife. Then I would twirl her and hug her. So when he tried to hug me, it felt like I was uncomfortable with it. I had never sensed that before."

She continued, "I have worked with so many people, I have many guy friends, and they have never made me feel that way. It was very shocking and weird for me. I said that man was a superstar. Why does he have to pull such a stunt? It was a very shocking incident in my life. I had met that person for the first time, and he had an attitude, something didn’t seem normal. Mai khud zindagi mein unke saath kaam nahi karungi (I will never work with him in my life)."

During the same interview, Shama Sikander was asked about casting couch in Bollywood. She recounted an incident where she was preparing for a major film shoot, including getting her makeup done, when she was unexpectedly informed that the shoot had been cancelled. She revealed that she was working with a prominent actor who failed to appear for the shoot.

Shama further added that as she was leaving the set, the director informed her that her role had been recast. The actor expressed her shock and disappointment, disclosing that she had cried all night. Shama went on to describe such instances where actors are abruptly removed from projects, as commonplace in the film industry.
