Filmmaker Lokesh Kanagaraj denied rumours that Rajinikanth's health was affected during the filming of his upcoming film, Coolie. Speaking to the media, Lokesh clarified that the superstar had informed him a month earlier about his upcoming treatment.

Dismissing the reports as false, the filmmaker also stated that if the actor had experienced any pain during the shoot, they would have cancelled it.

Addressing the media, Lokesh Kanagaraj said, "Rajini Sir is recovering well. I spoke to him over the phone. I want to clarify something. He informed the team around forty days ago that he would undergo treatment. So, it’s sad to see false news spread on social media."

"Ultimately, Rajini Sir’s health is more important than shooting for Coolie. If he had any discomfort on sets, we would’ve cancelled shooting, and the entire unit would’ve been by his side at the hospital. It was disheartening to see such falsehood being peddled by YouTubers", he explained.

Rajinikanth was recently hospitalised in Chennai and underwent surgery to help with a swollen blood vessel. The superstar was discharged on Thursday, October 3.

On the work front, Rajinikanth will be next seen in TJ Gnanavel's Vettaiyan. Also starring Fahadh Faasil, Amitabh Bachchan, Rana Daggubati and Manjui Warrier in important roles, the actioner will hit the theatres on October 10.
