  • Triptii Dimri faced heavy criticism for her role in Animal
  • She cried for 2–3 days due to social media backlash
  • Her sister advised her to 'own it' and remain confident

Actor Triptii Dimri faced a lot of criticism for her role as Zoya in Sandeep Reddy Vanga's action-thriller Animal, and it affected her so much that she cried for 2–3 days straight. She could not comprehend what people were writing about her on social media. In a recent interview, Triptii spoke about how she handled the criticism and said, “Sometimes crying helps in releasing the trauma.”

“I cried for 2–3 days after Animal. I never expected that I would be subjected to such criticism, and that too at this level. Dimaag kharab hogaya tha ki kya likh rahe hain log (I would cry because I got mad thinking about what people were writing),” Triptii told podcaster Ranveer Allahbadia.

Triptii's sister calmed her down and told her to "own it." She told Triptii, “You know what you have done; you know how you have achieved what you have achieved.”

But being a sensitive person, it was not easy for the 30-year-old actor. “I am very sensitive as a person. Even if I get into a fight with someone, I don't say anything; I just go into a shell. The same thing happened here. I was being affected a lot. Things were changing at such a fast pace. At that time, I had a lot of work as well. So, there was not much time to process it. A lot was happening at once, and I didn't know how to handle it,” Triptii shared.

However, the young actor believes that it is fine to cry sometimes to "release your trauma, whatever you are dealing with." After letting it all out, she was able to understand things better, and she also felt better.

Triptii Dimri will soon be seen alongside Rajkummar Rao in the comedy-drama Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video. The film is releasing in cinemas on October 11, alongside Alia Bhatt's Jigra.
