10, including 2 women, arrested for 'obscene' behaviour inside cars in UP

The police caught six men and a woman allegedly in an objectionable position in a car on September 21. In another incident, they found two men and a woman allegedly in an objectionable position in a car which had stopped at a checkpost on September 24.

A total of 10 people, including two women, were arrested for 'obscene behaviour' inside cars in two separate incidents in Ambedkar Nagar district in Uttar Pradesh in the past few days. They were arrested under sections of the Immoral Trafficking Prevention Act.

In the first incident, which took place on September 21 within Baskhari Police Station limits, when police caught six men and a woman, who were allegedly in an objectionable position inside a car parked on the roadside near Azamgarh Highway.

The police intercepted the car, which had a Samajwadi Party flag, during the night while they were patrolling and allegedly saw the six men and the woman in an objectionable position. They took the woman out of the car with the help of a female constable and arrested her. The six men were also arrested by the police.

The police recovered Rs 1,710 in cash, seven mobile phones and 10 condoms from them. The car was also seized by the police.

Similarly, in the second incident, which took place on September 24, personnel from the Bewana Police Station allegedly found two men and a woman in an objectionable position while checking the car at a checkpost. During interrogation, both men said that they were residents of Lucknow.

All three were arrested and Rs 2,600 in cash, four mobile phones and four packets of condoms were recovered from them.
