Telugu director Prasanth Varma opened up about not working with actor Ranveer Singh in a film. The two had announced a film together, after which a 'difference of opinion' led to the actor leaving the project. In an interview now, Prasanth mentioned that he is still on talking terms with Ranveer.

While speaking to Hindustan Times, the filmmaker shared that he is still hopeful of teaming up again with the 83 star. The director, who recently announced his next film titled Mahakali on the occasion of Navratri, added that all is in the past now, and they are both looking forward to making something happen in the future.

Prasanth was quoted as saying, "Ranveer... we still talk to each other. It was just a difference of opinion between us, that's all. So it's okay, jathakalu kalavaledu (the stars didn't align). We will work together someday."

Earlier, the two released a joint statement, announcing that their film, titled Rakshas, was not happening any more. The statement had the actor describing Prasanth as a "very special talent". He said, "Prasanth (Varma) is a very special talent. We met and explored the idea of a film together. Hopefully, we will collaborate on something exciting in the future (sic)."

He also talked about his other directorial, in which he is launching famous Telugu actor Nandamuri Balakrishna's son, Mokshagna. Prasanth said the decision to make this film, which is yet to be titled, was more 'personal' and based on his relationship with the veteran actor.

The film is a part of his cinematic universe and is based on a God's story. It is in pre-production right now with Mokshagna preparing for a special role. The director said, "I had no other choice due to the kind of relationship I have with Balakrishna garu. It's a more personal decision than a professional one. I'm also okay with doing it because the story is exciting."

The young filmmaker is also excited about Jai Hanuman, a sequel to his surprise hit Hanu-Man. Prasanth said he understands his added responsibility after the success of Hanu-Man, and he's going to give a 'good film' to the audience. The team is going to announce the star-cast of the film soon.
