Alia Bhatt on her ADHD diagnosis: I'm most present with Raha and on set

Alia Bhatt, in a recent interview, talked about her ADHD diagnosis. She explained how she had always zoned out during conversations and more present only when she is with her daughter Raha and on set.

Actor Alia Bhatt, in a recent interview with The Lallantop, India Today's sister group, revealed that she was clinically diagnosed with ADHD (Attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder). She recalled that she used to zone out during conversations from her young age. But, Alia claimed that she is most present only when she is on set and when she is with her daughter, Raha. Work-wise, the actor had her recent release, Jigra, directed by Vasan Bala.

Speaking to Lallantop, she said, "I used to be zoned out from my young age. Be it from my classroom or conversations, I used to get zoned out. Recently, I did a psychological test and found out that I am high on the ADHD spectrum. I have ADHD - Attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder. Whenever I told about this to my friends, they were like, "we always knew". This is not some sort of revelation. But, I didn't know. Then, I understood why I am at peace in front of the camera."

Alia continued, saying, "I'm most present in that moment. Whenever I am in front of the camera, I am present as the character I am playing. And I'm most present in that moment. And now after Raha, when I am with her, I am most present. These are the two moments in my life where I am more peaceful."

Back in September, the Jigra actor opened up about her disorder and said that she did not sit for hours during her wedding for the make-up because of her disorder.

In an interview, she said, "On my wedding day, my makeup artist, Puneet B Saini was like, 'Alia, this time, you need to give me two hours'. I told her, 'You've lost it, especially on my wedding day, I'm not giving two hours because I want to chill. It needs to be something that you can do very quickly. I have ADD (Attention Deficit Disorder) and don't have interest in investing too much time.'"

Alia Bhatt went for minimal makeup for her wedding with Ranbir Kapoor at their residence in Mumbai in 2022.

The couple welcomed their daughter, Raha, on November 6, 2022.
