- Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 was released today, faced a clash with Singham Again
- The advance booking sales hit Rs 19.22 crore with blocked seats for Day 1
- The film released on 3000 screens, boosted by the post-Diwali holiday
Kartik Aaryan's Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 hits the screens today, November 1. The film did fantastic business in advance booking, despite facing a clash with Singham Again, and it is now looking at solid opening day numbers. Directed by Anees Bazmee, the horror-comedy sold over 55 lakh tickets for 9901 shows all across the country, grossing around Rs 17.12 crore (without blocked seats), and Rs 19.22 crore (with blocked seats), reported the trade website Sacnilk.
This is one of the highest pre-sales numbers for a Hindi film this year. Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3, which has been released on around 3000 screens in India, will be getting a major boost from spot bookings today, considering it's a post-Diwali holiday and the best day to attract the audience to theatres traditionally.
The film's team has done well with its nationwide promotional campaign. Kartik, who plays Rooh Baba in the film, and Vidya Balan, who's reprising her iconic character, Manjulika, impressed the audience with their quirky chemistry during marketing. And something about the cast and the film's story have already struck a chord with the viewers. It all depends on positive word-of-mouth now.
Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 is looking at opening in the range of Rs 30-35 crore nett, which is a huge number for a film which is clashing with a giant like Singham Again. If the morning shows receive good reviews, the film will see even greater traction at the ticket window by the end of the day.
There's a lot at stake in both Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 and Singham Again. Even with the former enjoying fewer screens as compared to the Ajay Devgn-starrer, there's a great potential that it needs to exhaust to set some flying records at the box office.
